Magnet Motor by paranoid inventor in California

Relevance: Directory:Magnet Motors

I got a call by a guy in southern California today, who was asking if I had any more information about that skateboard powered by a magnet motor in the wheels. I said I'd not heard anything since we ran that story in 2006.

He was wanting to know because he's come up with something similar, and he was wondering what he might be up against if he were to try and bring it out.

He said he got a combination of magnets, that when he puts them all in place, it starts spinning continuously and does not stop.

I said I'd love to come see it, or have one of my friends in that area come see it, but he seemed paranoid. "How do I know you're not a government agent."

He said that when he was a kid, he had friends getting magnets to run during recess, and the teacher would come by and tell them to stop it.

He said he had a relative who built a dryer to dry clothes using ionization and deionization, attraction properties. It spun, but didn't didn't heat up, and dried and even cleaned the clothes. He showed all the neighbors, but his "fatal mistake" was showing a neighbor whose husband was a government employee working for an aircraft company. "Within 48 hours, they came and took his dryer and told him not to do that any more." That was 30 years ago.

Unless I can tell him what happened to the skateboard project, he doesn't want to have anything to do with me.
