The Algae Biofuels World Summit will be a major event where the nascent algae biofuels community will come together to discuss how to build a new international industry.

The Algae Biofuels World Summit will be the first major event where all the communities in the algae biofuels value chain will come together to discuss how to build a new algae fuels industry. Power plant operators and industrial carbon generators, aquaculturists, algae technology developers, algae equipment suppliers, algae project developers, biofuels refiners, financiers, oil companies and fuel distributors, airlines and aircraft and engine manufacturers will be on hand to share their perspectives on what is needed to form an efficient and effective value chain to commercialize algae biofuels production.
No single community will be able to create a viable algae biofuels industry. Only through intense cooperative efforts will this be possible. This means that all the communities in the value chain will need to obtain a detailed understanding of the capabilities, challenges and needs of the other communities in the value chain in order for the industry to move forward.
The goals of the Summit are to provide an opportunity to initiate profound conversations between various communities in the value chain and to provide a powerful venue where these communities can fully understand how to build links within the value chain that are necessary to make the algae biofuels industry a reality. The Summit will provide a unique forum where each of the communities will discuss their activities to support a potential algae biofuels industry outline the key technical, organizational, economic and financial challenges they face and then identify the types of relationships that need to be established in order to truly support their role in the value chain.
The Summit will also provide a rich opportunity for offline discussions with other groups from the value chain in order to establish ongoing relationships, serving as a springboard for more profound discussions in the future.
As a prelude to the Summit, the informative Briefing, Building the Algae Biofuels Industry: Status and Outlook, will provide an excellent opportunity for attendees to obtain a report on the status of industry activities taking place around the country and will be a great foundation for those attending the Summit.
