Super Tech® is said to be the world's first in-tank catalyst (immersion device), that is lowered into the Hydro Carbon fuel tanks of vehicles, where it emits far infrared and electromagnetic waves. These waves affect the way that the fuel molecules interact with each other, allowing optimum combustion of the fuel.
They call it 'the Genius of the tank,' and offer "exact and guaranteed results".
Claims to reduce fuel consumption, while at the same time cutting emissions and therefore pollution. Company says savings of fuel and emissions are typically in the range of 6% to 12% and sometimes more. Cites extensive documentation of governments, institutions, truck fleets, bus fleets that have tested the device. Skeptic points out inadequacies in data.

I had a few email conversations with them in March this year.
The fundamental problem with this device is that, like many others, it claims to give big improvements by reducing the amount of fuel that escapes unburnt from the engine. Yet it is easy to prove (see for example http://www.fuelsaving.info/unburnt_fuel.htm ) that this unburnt fuel represents no more than 1 or 2% of the input fuel for a modern engine in good condition, and so I am immediately skeptical of the claims. You should also look at my pages on catalysts and magnets for my reasons for doubting the claimed operating principles.
They also have a lot of test data, the majority of which I have looked at:
- I am immediately doubtful of the various bus and truck tests, since (despite some care in the test methodology) it is always impossible to eliminate "confounding factors" such as weather, traffic, driving style, etc.
- Most of the institutions that have carried out bench tests are not ones that are well known in the automotive industry, and while they may be perfectly competent and honest, I do not have the same confidence as I would in data from a more prestigious organisation.
The one organisation on the list I do know and trust is the TUV. Their report is interesting - it shows some improvement on a constant-speed rolling road test, but with no A-B-A or repeat test to give statistical confidence. What is really interesting is that, in the "referbook" I was sent back in March, the TUV report contains another test - a proper drive-cycle rolling road test (as per http://www.fuelsaving.info/drive_cycle.htm ), which the legislative authorities regard as the "gold standard" for testing fuel "saving" devices. This section of the report has now been deleted (you will see the first page says "1 of 4", yet there are only two pages...), which is perhaps unsurprising as it showed significantly worse fuel economy with the device fitted! The Supertech people insisted that this type of test was somehow unsuited to their product, but I can't see why as it just involves starting an engine from cold and then driving about 4 miles at various speeds. I asked them several times to explain what it was about their product that meant it would work in the "real world" but somehow wouldn't work on this test, but they couldn't give me any meaningful explanation. If they have in the meantime found what the explanation is, I'd be very pleased to hear it.
So, like most of these devices, it boils down to this:
1) The theoretical evidence strongly suggests it does not work (or at least gives savings of no more than a percent or two).
2) The test data, while pointing in the right direction, is (in my view) insufficiently robust to overcome the theoretical objections.
3) The company is apparently unwilling to spend a relatively small amount of money on the tests that would prove the device works.

of "Super Tech" Critic and must note that there are many
other products on the market which seem to be similar
(at least 20 in commerce throughout the world) but which
instead have great differences in functioning compare to
"Super Tech" which create evident inconvenience which
have however brightly been gone over by our "Genius of
the tank": all the other ionizers are devices having only
magnets often aligned by electric connections, they are
function along the connection circuit between the fuel tank
and combustion chamber: therefore they work on the fuel
Flow. On the contrary: Super Tech" work insight the fuel
Tank and ionize fuel before it gets into combustion chamber.
"Super Tech" have in its internal part a structure composed by
ceramic parts, permanent magnets and Nobel metals, including
PLATINUM. Platinum on its own have catalyzing effect on the
Fuel. The device generate an electromagnetic field (on far infrared
rays) which desegregates the hydrocarbons loosening the
Intermolecular attraction brought by the force of VAN DER WAALS.
Therefore, our critic is only right to the point: devices which work
on the fuel flow are able to safe 1 or 2% of the fuel.
"Super Tech" the world first device which is function insight the
fuel tank and as was proved have an ability to safe between 6
and 12%. Now we are about to receive a good reference from
England and Ukraine. Both from well known laboratories.

In the near future we will test the device in this country and

In order to install device you do not have to make a hole in the
tank. On the big trucks or buses it should be inserted thru the
fueling entrance and it may take only 15/20 minuets.
on the passenger cars: European and have of the Japanese cars
and van's have an easy entrance from the trunk. Unfortunately,
if device installed on American cars, fuel tank have to be removed
in order to remove a fuel pomp as an entry for "Super Tech".
