Cyclone - It's campy, over acted, and low budget, everything a good B movie is supposed to be!!! And the cherry on top is Heather Thomas! There is a hydrogen-powered motorcycle in there somewhere... R-Rated. (1987)
Black Moon Rising - Tommy Lee Jones plays a high-tech thief squeezed by the government into stealing data from a shady corporation. Under pursuit, he slips the booty into the back of the lightning-quick Black Moon hydrogen car, which is subsequently stolen by Robert Vaughn's hot-car operation. R Rated. (1986)
The Secret of Nikola Tesla - Outstanding. Focuses on AC/DC war with Edison, and Wardenclyffe. Music is awful. Credits are not in English, and one brief portion of movie is spoken in German, with no subtitles. (1979)
The Lone Gunmen - One episode involves hiding a water-powered car from the bad guys - after driving it. (2001)
The Naked Gun 2 1/2 - The Smell of Fear - Starring Leslie Nielson. Story about a missing energy scientist includes a scene of a corporate boardroom where various bigwigs are assured that no one will ever know about new inventions. It's plot, to kidnap a pro alternatives scientist and replace him with a look-alike who will support coal and oil, does not seem that farfetched. (1991)
Spies Like Us - Starring Dan Akroyd, Chevy Chase. The bad guys use a large solar-powered furnace to contact and control a satellite. (1985)
What the Bleep Do We Know!? - It is part documentary, part story, and part elaborate and inspiring visual effects and animations. A lecture on mysticism and science mixed into a sort-of narrative. Marlee Matlin stars in the dramatic thread, about a sourpuss photographer who begins to question her perceptions. Interviews with quantum physics experts and New Age authors are cut into this story, offering a vaguely convincing (and certainly mind-provoking) theory about the Power of Positive Thinking. Tucker - The Man and His Dream- Preston Tucker invented a revolutionary automobile around 1948. It was about to turn the auto industry on its ear. He got as far a producing 50 cars before they evicted him from his factory and shut him down. Example of documented suppression. PG-Rated. (1988)
The Formula - A detective uncovers a formula that was devised by the Nazis in WW II to make gasoline from synthetic products, thereby eliminating the necessity for oil--and oil companies.
