The licensing of what was formerly Lutec technology is now being handled by Evergreen Enterprise International, Ldt (EEI) of Hohg Kong.

They claim "the ability to Amplify Electricity. 1 Kilowatt can now become 4.25 Kilowatts or multiples thereof via the Evergreen Electricity Amplifier (EEA)."

No products are available commercially yet that we know of.

How It Works

'''Where does the extra Energy Come From?

The rotor has permanent magnets embedded and stands in oil drum like fashion on a top and bottom bearing allowing it to spin freely through 360 degree rotation. External to the rotor, steel cores are wound with copper wire and placed in a fixed position independent of the rotor. Now of course the rotor cannot spin freely any more because the magnets are attracted to the steel core of the coil and so this is acting as a locking brake. The key is in how to cause the magnet to pass the steel core of the coil that is trying to attract then hold the magnet and so prevent the rotor from revolving.

As the magnet is attracted to the steel core of the coil it pulls the rotor with it, this is then motion caused by “Natural Magnetic Attraction". When the magnet is situated in the appropriate position opposite the steel core of the coil a short pulse of electrical energy is caused to be sent through the coil windings. This has the effect of turning the steel core temporarily into a magnet of like polarity to the permanent magnet. This causes repulsion from each other and so the revolution of the rotor continues. Absolutely critical to the efficient running of the machines is the accuracy of the timing and duration of the switching of the input pulse. The rotational speed is dictated by the amount of electrical energy of that input pulse. There is a lot of energy stored in the rotor created by the motion, however the motion itself is the result of the magnets being attracted to and then repelled from the steel core of the coils.

Independent Replication - "The LEA depicted was constructed by others independently from Lutec Australia Pty Ltd, to specifications provided by Lutec. This proves that overunity results can be replicated by others."

Free Energy - No Fuel Magnetic Motor - Sky News Australia. (YouTube August 02, 2007)

It's not an all-magnet motor but includes an electrical component.

"Imagine a device that could power your house for free." The energy source might be free, as in solar, wind, tide but the device will not be free. This is the calibur of accuracy of this hype piece.

Ever since the Sky News Australian TV segment aired last year, we've gotten a couple of emails a week from people alerting us to this video. In case you're wondering, it's Lutec, in Australia and no, we still don't know of any independent validations of their claims. -- (Congress:Founder:Sterling D. Allan April 27, 2008)

The website is "in process of being updated". The following photo has been posted, as the only contents on the home page, showing five banks of ten bulbs, a load that is probably able to demonstrate at least 5 kilowatts, at 100 Watts per bulb. The device is about 1 meter in diameter and 1 meter high, with large electrical cables protruding, going over to the bank of lights.

Before this, the site didn't change much over the past few years, other than link to it's manufacturing site, which never returned my recent email asking for more info. The manufacturing site has been claiming to be in process of licensing the technology out to interested parties. -- Congress:Founder:Sterling D. Allan

An email from Lutec to someone else seemed to imply that they were saying their technology has been validated by SGS, "the world’s leading inspection, verification, testing and certification company."

Theory Behind Lutec Motor (pdf) - Lutec purports a prototypes that amplifies electricity by at least five times. If valid, this technology could help solve the energy crunch. In this document, Lutec addresses the question: "Where does the 'EXTRA' energy come from?". No back EMF is part of the equation. [back-up on file]

On Nov. 27, 2007, New Energy Congress member, Congress:Former Member:Mark Anthony Dansie wrote:

The question is, will they allow an independent test that measures power in and power out i.e. dc in and dc out? If so, the result is more important than the theory that tries to explain it.

One more question, if it is doing what it says, they should be able to do a closed loop demo, i.e. self powering. If not..I dont' buy it.

On Nov. 27, 2007, New Energy Congress member, Congress:Advisor:Kenneth M. Rauen wrote:

The description really doesn't say anything other than they think they have an OU device. No useful information, especially since Lutec is still unverified.

LEA Video - "Lutek Electricity Amplifier" demonstration alleges 280 Watts input and 636 Watts output, for an efficiency of 227%.

Alt copy of video

Device appears to be about 8 inches high, and 16 inches in diameter.

A sparking is evident in the region the may correspond to the commutator.

alleges 280 Watts input and 636 Watts output, for an efficiency of 227%.

Input and output meters duplicated (same make and model), apparently in series.

DC Input: ~34 Volts ~3.8 Amps = 129.2 (x2 = 258.4 Watts)

DC Output: ~84 Volts ~3.9 Amps = 327.6 (x2 = 655.2 Watts)

three sets of six bulbs serve to demonstrate resistive load (~36 Watts each)

operation is fairly smoothe and quiet

speed of rotation is too fast to estimate visually no rpm readout

No walkaround of aparatus

No close inspection of experimental set-up

New video posted. No voiceover, no description. According to meters shown, there is an input-to-output ratio of 2.3x more output than input.

Alt copy of video

Device is about the size of a washing machine drum. (est. 2.5 feet high by 2 feet diam.)

Spins with essentially constant speed for duration of 12-second video

Fairly loud.

No walk-around of aparatus.

Meters show:

6.3 amps DC, 28 V DC in. Total: 178.4 Watts in.

6.8 amps AC, ~60 V AC out. Total: 408 Watts out.

COP 2.3, minus other factors that meters might not be catching, or which might be hidden.

Meters are not labeled "input" and "output". They probably would not be producing a video if they thought their efficiency was the inverse of 2.3x.

Three rows of six bulbs (18 total) are lit. 408 Watts divided by 18 is 44 Watts each.

Sparking is seen in the area that could be the commutator

Lutec banner is seen in background.

No rpm readout. Vibration rate of sound gives estimage speed of around 1500 rpm.

Validation Status

In 2007, Lutec contacted New Energy Congress member, Congress:Former Member:Mark Anthony Dansie to have him come test their device, because an investor in the U.S. specifically requested him as an NEC representative.

However, Lutec expected Mark to use their testing equipment and to use their testing protocol, and those were not acceptable terms for Mark, and rightfully so.

A reasonable approach would have been for him to propose a testing protocol, which they could have rejected or approved. And if they rejected his protocol, they could have given their reasons, and given Mark a chance to amend his protocol to their satisfaction as well as his.

Allowing him to use his own testing equipment is a no-brainer prerequisite for any valid test.

Lutec Refused Capacitor/Calory Test

On June 11, 2006, New Energy Congress member, Congress:Member:Greg Watson wrote:

About 2 months ago I was contacted by some potential investors, through a patent attorney I know, about the machine. I contacted the Lutec guys and they offered me to have a look at the machine and do any test I wanted. I suggested running the machine from a Super Cap energy bank and running the output into a resistor which heated water. The idea was to charge the cap bank to a fixed voltage and then allow it to discharge through the resistor until the water temp had risen say 10 deg C. Then measure the voltage on the cap bank and determine the energy used from the voltage drop and compare that against the temp rise in the water. You would expect to see a very close result between energy used from the cap bank to the energy input into the water to raise the temp 10 deg C.

Then I suggested we insert the Lutec machine in the middle, recharge up the cap bank and let the machine do it's thing, switching it off when the water temp had again risen 10 deg C. Again measure the voltage drop on the cap bank. One would expect if the machine were OU to find less energy had been drawn from the cap bank using the machine than had been drawn from the cap bank without the machine.

They refused to do this test saying they had more than enough test data and didn't need to do this test even though they had invited me to inspect and test their machine. They never went forward with the test and the potential investors are still scratching their heads whether to invest or not. "May the buyer beware".

See Talk:Directory:Lutec.

Lutec send me a report on the validation of the Lutec LEA device by the Danish Technology University on the 7th of August 2008. This report contains many serious errors in both math and measurement methods. For instance the report claims a 1 Ohm resistor carrying an average current of 3.07 Ampere dissipates about 56 Watts. Ohm's law says that a 1 Ohm resistor carrying 3.07 Ampere dissipates 9.4 Watts (Power= Current^2 Resistance).

The basic error in all their measurements is that they use equipment intended to measure DC currents and voltages on pulsed currents en voltages. Equipment for DC measurements are simply unsuitable for these type of measurements and show anything but the correct value. The only suitable equipment to measure pulsed signals (voltages or currents) is an oscilloscope.

Anyway if I put all the numbers mentiod in the report they send me in the correct place I get an efficiency of 73%. This is way less than the 200% efficiency they claim in the report they send me. Based on the report it is safe to say the Lutec device is just another hoax.
