This morning, when I got on my computer, Channada from Tanzania (Southern Africa) apparently saw me come online and called me on Skype to give me an update on his work.
Nearly a year ago, we had quite a few conversations talking about both his propelling force technology, which he sees as being the most promising thing he has, as well as his all-magnet motor, which he sees as a far inferior technology in comparison.
According to this morning's report, apparently, the magnet motor has taken over his primary focus recently. He says the "farmers are going bananas" over it.
I asked him how many he has built and delivered so far. He responded "about 50" at a price point of around $950 USD per kilowatt.
He didn't have a running one to show me, but he did show me a portion of one he had nearby. It appears very crude, with some kind of crud on it. I don't know if that is to conceal what's under it, or if it is some kind of adhesive to hold things in place.
He said that one unit didn’t have what it took to run, but if you combine two, then the other one gets the other past the cogging point and as it's brought up to speed, it stays running at a constant speed of around 135 rpm, turning the generator. It requires a motor to spin it up to speed (it can't overcome the resistance of the generator at lower rpms), but after a certain speed it takes off and then begins equilibrating at a constant output for the generator. So this is not going to be a load-following, governable technology at this point, but a constant output scenario.
He said the mechanical tolerances have to be very tight for it to work and that South Africa is not a good place to be manufacturing this. I asked him if 3D printing might work well for this, and he responded that it probably would. He has someone in Australia he's been talking to about manufacturing. He said he just sent off a batch of seven of the motors to him.
He said a 10 kW system would be about 1 foot in diameter and that he doesn't plan on building anything larger than that any time soon, because the magnets are so hard to control and get in the right orientation when assembling it. Obviously robotics would help things out, but that is outside of his realm right now.
As he manually builds these at present, he usually encourages the customers (typically farmers, who are handy in assembling and jerry rigging) to purchase their own generator locally and install them themselves. I'm not sure how that would work, as the motor output would need to be matched to the generator, and there are all kinds of generators out there, most of which have to operate within a certain speed. And it would involved getting the right ratios of gearing, belts, pulleys, bearings, etc. All of that engineering is something that should ideally be done by the manufacturer, not the end user. Matching pulley lengths, tensions, and bearings alone is no small issue.
He said he would make me a 10 kW generator and asked me to send him the specs (for N. American power output) and also to send him the generator head. I've got an investor friend who has been searching for something to power his off-grid home, and this could be a step closer for him. And once we get one here in the U.S. that people can see running, that will open doors for additional funding and other professional capabilities to step forward to roll this thing to market.
He said that PES could become a distributor in the U.S., but Aaron Willis, who is taking the reigns of PES wants PES to be non-profit and non-affiliated with any specific technologies so PES can maintain objectivity in reviewing the various exotic free energy technologies emerging without any favoritism based on financial remuneration. My stance in the past has been to disclose any such arrangements and my personal ethics are: "May the best team win." But as PES grows to include more of a team approach, I can see a place for the non-encumbered stance. However, I could see an advertising role that could bring PES revenue without have such a direct encumbrance.
While all this news might seem fantastic, there are several things to bear in mind. Channada is not ready to handle large orders. The first inquiries should be about assisting in manufacturing, not sales. And that will take many months to get geared up. It would be nice to see a video of one of these things running. Channada didn't seem concerned about producing a video. He can't even keep up with the word of mouth inquiries he's receiving.
Channada said he would try to put me in touch with one of his associates so I can ask him some questions, get his witness statement, and get more info. And he said I could publish what he shared with me this morning.
