NEC Profiles

Hi Noah,

Let's not link the new profile pages from Congress:Members until they are minimally populated with content, including

Date joined (info is on the Congress:Members page)

Contact info (info is on the Congress:Members page)

Representation (info is on the Congress:Members page)

and prefererably also with

Committees

If the member doesn't have a PESWiki username, let's leave that line blank.

Do you want me to send you the bio info I have have on file for each member? (Submitted when they joined/applied)

I've created a new template Template:Profile footer to add to the "See also" section at the bottom of pages where a user has filled in some info about themselves. Let's add the - PESWiki:User Profile Pages

- Main Page

There was an error working with the wiki: Code[1] tag at the bottom of such pages as you see them either newly created, or stumble on them while checking around the site.

Maybe you might want to create a brief blurb next to your profile link on the profile index page.

Keep up the great work.

: Yes, if you send me the bio info I can go ahead and insert it. Nseidm1 16:11, 27 Dec 2006 (EST)

:: I renamed the Paul Richard Price page to include the last name.

:: The "member since" data is when the vote was finalized for them to come into the congress. You can get that info by logging in to http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/NEC-Forum/polls, then add one week and one day to the date the item was posted. That is the date stamp that comes on the notice automatically sent to the NEC members of the poll results and that is when the person officially becomes a member. -- SilverThunder 02:21, 29 Dec 2006 (EST)

Definition Pages

In answer to your question about the root-level pages you created, the ones I looked at belong in the PowerPedia: department. I moved a couple of them, and changed the footer tag. They are the beginnings of encyclopedic type entries, even though at present they are brief, and more like definitions.

For very brief definitions, I would like to see our Glossary page expanded. And for pure definition pages, we can label them Definition:Word. But my guess is that really, all definitions should be expanded into an encyclopedic form and all encyclopedic pages ought to contain a brief definition as part of the entry. So really, I would prefer that we not create a "Definition:" department.

Brown's Gas

On the [PowerPedia:Browns_gas]] page, comparing your recent modififications: http://peswiki.com/index.php?title=PowerPedia:Browns_gas&curid=4494&diff=0&oldid=34852, I see that there are several items from the left (previous version) column that do not appear in the right column. They look like good pieces of information. While generally I like the improvements you made to the page, I would like to see the valuable points made previously retained.

Thanks -- SilverThunder 01:51, 28 Dec 2006 (EST)

How about adding some brief descriptions to the new Brown's Gas video links, then maybe I can link to it from FreeEnergyNews. -- SilverThunder 02:29, 31 Dec 2006 (EST)

News Posting

Hi Noah. Thanks for posting the Stormblade story. Please look at this link to compare between your posting and some changes that "John Q. Public" and I did to the entry.

- added preface directory links

- eliminated redundancy in description

- restored TreeHugger as the news source

- tightened up the wording

The only time PESN is credited for a news item is when the item is published at http://pesn.com

If a news item is merely a link to a company website, then we omit the source credit at the end of the bullet.

Don't let my criticsm deter you from again posting news items. I appreaciate your attempt. -- SilverThunder 21:28, 4 Jan 2007 (EST)

Try to follow the news bullet convention when posting to News. Title in bold with link to story. Description no longer than 30 words. Source in italics, followed by date. etc.

Also, while you're posting, copy and paste the item into the relevant directory page where it fits in.

Thanks. -- SilverThunder 01:26, 16 Jan 2007 (EST)

Hydrogen Boost

Maybe you could present to NEC your recommendation for which of the hydrogen boost technologies we should feature in our top 100. GetHydro is around #30. Are they the best? Should we list one or two, or three? Is there another hydrogen boost company we should feature instead of Hydrogen-Boost.com? Submit your recommendation for discussion at nec-techrev. Thanks -- SilverThunder 21:28, 4 Jan 2007 (EST)

Comment

Hi. Thanks for the kind comments. We can always use help posting more News items if you see something interesting. For format, check out Help:Bullet format. For content read some of the other sites like http://www.treehugger.com/ , http://keelynet.com/ and http://thefraserdomain.typepad.com/ . Sometimes I see a reference to a company in the article, so I do a web search to find their web site. Then I check out their site, which might have links to other sites. That is how I find some of my material. Another option is to do a web search on a topic you are interested in and include terms like "energy", "efficient", "alternative", "innovative" in the search. --John Q. BGEvolution relevance?

Hi Noah,

I'm not seeing the relevance of Site:BGEvolution to clean energy technology. PESWiki is dedicated to energy technology.

-- SilverThunder 16:51, 19 Mar 2007 (EDT)

I added: "BGEvolution is a alternative energy file repository and a complete server setup guide." (from your profile page). Now I see the relevance. -- SilverThunder 16:53, 19 Mar 2007 (EDT)
