Here is a start of a document for the replication page that I hope others will work on and complete.

This page is posted to provide a listing of components required for replicating Andrea Rossi's There was an error working with the wiki: Code[1], noting their description, function, source, and links.

As always, we urge that if anyone does replicate this technology, and then seeks to go commercial with it, that they do so with the blessing and agreement of Rossi and Directory:Industrial Heat, LLC. Do the right thing.

Device Components

Finned Alumina Tube or Cylinder (Reactor) Al2O3

D – Softer than the alumina rods. 2 cm diameter and 20 cm long. Triangular ridges on surface 2.3mm high and 3.2mm wide.

F – To contain the powder, resistors, and nuclear reactions. The ridges help to convey heat away via convection.

U – The exact type of Alumina is not listed and the thickness of the walls are not listed.

Alumina Caps or Ends of Cylinder

D – 4 cm in diameter and 4 cm in length. They are permanently attached to the cylinder.

F – Provide ends to the reactor and a way to add thermocouples, fuel, resistors, etc.

D – They are of a high temperature grade and doped. In addition, they have a non-linear aspects.

Alumina Cement or Covering for Inconel Resistors

D – To seal the holes where the powder is inserted. Also, the resistors must not be exposed to oxygen or they will be destroyed at high temperatures.

Fuel

Carbonyl Nickel Powder

D – Particles a few microns in size with exotic surface features.

F – To provide reaction sites in the form of exotic surface features (tubercles, spikes, cracks).

S – Perhaps AH50 Carbonyl nickel from Hunter Chemical. The powder has surface features similar to the SEM images of Rossi's powder.

Lithium Aluminum Hydride LiAlH4

D – The mass ratio between Li and Al is compatible with a LiAlH4 molecule. This compound can be used to produce free hydrogen by heating.

F – To provide hydrogen to the fuel mix. To provide Lithium 7 which may undergo nuclear reactions.

Iron Powder

D – Either small nano-particles that may fill in the areas between the tubercules, larger crystals as seen in the fuel, or both. The nano powder may be in the form of Fe2O3. The oxide is less hazardous than a reduced powder.

F – To facilitate the growth of exotic surface features on the nickel and convert the molecular hydrogen to atomic hydrogen. Larger crystals may interact with the EM stimulation to undergo induction heating or act as electromagnets to strengthen the magnetic field inside of the powder.

Fuel Processing

There is a lot we know and do not know about the components and processing of the powder of the E-Cat. One thing that seems certain is carbonyl nickel is used. What we do not know is what further processing Rossi does to the nickel before using it. For example, does he mix it with iron powder and other additives and then heat treat it before placing it in the reactor? Or does he add the ingredients and let the heat in the reactor do the work?

We also don't know what sizes or types of iron powder he uses. For example, large particles of iron are found in the fuel and ash. There are currently no images of nano-scale iron in the powder. However, that does not mean it is not used. Several reactors need to be tested with only nano-scale iron, only larger scale iron, and combinations. Also, tests should be run with the fuel heat treated before being put in the reactor and not being heat treated before being put in the reactor.

One hint that some sort of sintering and grinding process may be utilized is the unused fuel is composed of clumps of about one millimeter in diameter.
