**Wire up the motor to its highest-voltage circuit possible (it should be made for a 460V input) and this gives you high impedance so you will draw as little current as possible, then hook up to your grid like in drawing and see it go...In one of my RVs, I actually went inside the motor and found the motor winds were 4 wires in parallel, instead of one thick wire - so I resoldered the wires to be all in SERIES and really brought the impedance up, from .5ohms "stock" (parallel) to a big 6 ohms with the wires in SERIES...this is the motor that produces 1hp on 120watts. (7.5hp Baldor) . Lightbulbs can be stuck onto your input as easy way to bring volts down if you want - also you might want to get a 120V 60hz inverter from a autoparts store and run it on battery feeding the inverter which is really easy then you can chuck the battery and run it on single solar panel to impress your friends. Try and get rid of your cooling fan in the motor, this sucks up watts and is not needed since these RVs run cool and cold... Also run it before you clean bearings, and after you spray them out with carburetor cleaner super-clean - then note difference clean bearings makes in watts-draw....this makes a huge difference when you run with clean bearings. Hector has already experimented with the Ecklin-Brown patent as a generator attached to the RV. This patent has expired and Hector has a working OU design. At the time hector first built this he was not open sourced and experienced the greedy out come that results in this citation. This resulted in his prototype being suppressed according to Hector. A start-up capacitor is connected into the circuit using the press-button switch shown, to get the motor up to speed, at which point the switch is released, allowing the motor to run with a much smaller capacitor in place. Although the running capacitor is shown as a fixed value, in practice, that capacitor needs to be adjusted while the motor is running, to give resonant operation. For this, a bank of capacitors is usually constructed, each capacitor having its own ON/OFF switch, so that different combinations of switch closures give a wide range of different overall values of capacitance. With the six capacitors shown above, any value from 0.5 microfarad to 31.5 microfarad can be rapidly switched to find the correct resonant value. These values allow combined values of 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, 2.5, 3.0, 3.5, ... by selecting the appropriate switched to be ON or OFF. Should you need a value greater than this, then wire a 32 microfarad capacitor in place and connect the substitution box across it to test higher values step-by-step to find the optimum value of capacitor to use. The capacitors need to be powerful, oil-filled units with a high voltage rating - in other words, large, heavy and expensive. The power being handled in one of these systems is large and setting one up is not without a certain degree of physical danger. These systems have been set to be self-powered but this is not recommended, presumably because of the possibility of runaway with the output power building up rapidly and boosting the input power until the motor burns out.

The baldor is a 15hp 220/440V 40/20A rated motor. Its setup with a binary switchable cap bank for ease of adding/removing capacitance. So far I've only gotten the motor to spin up and run idly on 120VAC but I'm looking to get a small 5kW ST style genhead to couple to the shaft since the RPMS are similar ... the baldor RPM is 1760 and the ST genhead has to be turned at about 1800RPM so it should be almost a 1:1 coupling from the axle.

    • Wire up the motor to its highest-voltage circuit possible (it should be made for a 460V input) and this gives you high impedance so you will draw as little current as possible, then hook up to your grid like in drawing and see it go...In one of my RVs, I actually went inside the motor and found the motor winds were 4 wires in parallel, instead of one thick wire - so I resoldered the wires to be all in SERIES and really brought the impedance up, from .5ohms "stock" (parallel) to a big 6 ohms with the wires in SERIES...this is the motor that produces 1hp on 120watts. (7.5hp Baldor) . Lightbulbs can be stuck onto your input as easy way to bring volts down if you want - also you might want to get a 120V 60hz inverter from a autoparts store and run it on battery feeding the inverter which is really easy then you can chuck the battery and run it on single solar panel to impress your friends. Try and get rid of your cooling fan in the motor, this sucks up watts and is not needed since these RVs run cool and cold... Also run it before you clean bearings, and after you spray them out with carburetor cleaner super-clean - then note difference clean bearings makes in watts-draw....this makes a huge difference when you run with clean bearings. Just use small amount of hitech lube in bearings after they are clean. CiaoK


Explanation of energy savings using the RV mode

Running three-phase motors in the RV mode is a method to operate a motor at high-impedance to its input source by using electrical resonant principles. In RV mode the three-phase motor is wired to operate from one-phase power by using the addition of start and run capacitors to generate the third phase.
The RV principle is based on matching the source to the needs of the load (as referenced by Nikola Tesla) by tuning capacitors values to the load REQUIREMENTS. This will result in an as yet unrecognized superior power management with many other advantages.
The process of electrical resonance in the process of the RV allows a lower reflective power loss/draw when the motor idles. When the motor is loaded, the RV functions the same as a true transformer does.
An electrical transformer uses minimal energy in its primary winding when unloaded. The RV functions the same by using minimal energy at its input when its MECHANICAL output is unloaded. This is the most efficient Power On demand process; Normal electric motor engineering design has an inefficient power management process.
The RV solves this design flaw and also makes practical solar co-generation possible (consult video: RV running on solar panels), where previously it would have been impossible. The benefit of running motors in RV mode results in superior energy savings when used in the role of industrial and commercial machinery, intermittently in rotary punch applications.
Even at this very early R&D (of energy savings) stage, all 1-2 horse powered motors that are run in the RV mode can save energy in applications which employ a lathe, a drill a grinder a rotary saw, a reciprocating pump, and also vacuum pumps. But this is only the beginning.
Technically, when operating a motor in RV mode, at the start of the process the function is resonant; as the squirrel cage motor attains rotation the conditions allow a an impedance match with the line input power source. As you load this tuned resonant state it tends to go back to a semi resonant state where the power can be used more efficiently than in a normal electrical motor design.

Another explanation of energy savings using RV mode

A "rotoverted" AC motor can best be described as an off-shelf 3-phase AC motor with its phases reconnected very simply to run on single phase AC input (house grid for example), and with only 2 of the 3 phases in the motor connected to power source. START and RUN AC caps are connected between phases 2 and 3 (#3 being the "unconnected/virtual" phase) INTERESTING DETAILS:

  • The RUN cap cap be adjusted in its UF value to create the lowest input draw possible for whatever load the shaft may turning. (rotoverted motors can be "tuned to load" easily via run cap UF size)
  • Various generators and alternators, or even a 2nd 3ph motor hooked up to work as alternator, can be turned by shaft to demonstrate "overunity" (more watts output than input)
  • Any person with ability to read meters and simple circuit diagrams can build and test a rotovertor power system...AC 3ph motors can be found for free and very cheap and the hands-on conversion takes about an afternoon.

The output device is an alternator which is driven by a three-phase mains-powered, 3 HP to 7.5 HP motor (both of these devices can be standard 'asynchronous squirrel-cage' motors). The drive motor is operated in a highly non-standard manner. It is a 240V motor with six windings as shown below. These windings are connected in series to make an arrangement which should require 480 volts to drive it, but instead, it is fed with 120 volts of single-phase AC. The input voltage for the motor, should always be a quarter of its rated operational voltage. A virtual third phase is created by using a capacitor which creates a 90-degree phase-shift between the applied voltage and the current.

The objective is to tune the motor windings to give resonant operation. A start-up capacitor is connected into the circuit using the press-button switch shown, to get the motor up to speed, at which point the switch is released, allowing the motor to run with a much smaller capacitor in place. Although the running capacitor is shown as a fixed value, in practice, that capacitor needs to be adjusted while the motor is running, to give resonant operation. For this, a bank of capacitors is usually constructed, each capacitor having its own ON/OFF switch, so that different combinations of switch closures give a wide range of different overall values of capacitance. With the six capacitors shown above, any value from 0.5 microfarad to 31.5 microfarad can be rapidly switched to find the correct resonant value. These values allow combined values of 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, 2.5, 3.0, 3.5, ... by selecting the appropriate switched to be ON or OFF. Should you need a value greater than this, then wire a 32 microfarad capacitor in place and connect the substitution box across it to test higher values step-by-step to find the optimum value of capacitor to use. The capacitors need to be powerful, oil-filled units with a high voltage rating - in other words, large, heavy and expensive. The power being handled in one of these systems is large and setting one up is not without a certain degree of physical danger. These systems have been set to be self-powered but this is not recommended, presumably because of the possibility of runaway with the output power building up rapidly and boosting the input power until the motor burns out.

To move to some more practical construction details for this system. The motor (and alternator) considered to be the best for this application is the "Baldor EM3770T" 7.5 horsepower unit. The specification number is 07H002X790, and it is a 230/460 volts 60hz 3-phase, 19/9.5 amp, 1770rpm, power factor 81, device. Baldor Motors

Original description

"RV" stands for "RotoVerter". It is a simple AC motor power-saving conversion, the device is an invention of Hector D. Perez of Puerto Rico. Very basically it means to modify a large 3HP AC motor connected to its 460V high voltage circuit so that it instead runs on 120Vac house power and runs on one phase, creating 3 virtual ones.

This makes the motor work as a transformer does with a minimal power draw at idling. "Rotoverter" is a way to modify an off-the-shelf electric motor to achieve overunity. The modified motor can also be run by solar panel.

Sample:

  • A One HP lawnmower electric motor uses 890W (Constant)
  • One HP RV uses only 40W until it is loaded (it demands 800W) to give one HP.
  • Power saving are over 90% under no-load for intermittent use in all time on production machines (constant use) like bench industrial drills where maximal power is only used at maximal load (doing work).
  • If you drill one hole in 2 seconds every 20 seconds it sums up to 90% energy savings, in a production line having 100 bench drills That is 89,000KWH using conventional bench drills and 8,900KWH using RV (RotoVerter converted ones)

Power Extraction from Resonance

Sometimes we need the circuits to extract power from resonance or virtual reactive power circulation. Sometimes just to limit the voltage growth in a BEMF collection capacitor.

Hector's claims that the resonance holds the radiant energy circulation - where we can extract a large portion of it without stopping the resonance.

(Quote) A simple LC has a DECAY value in time; the only energy you need to supply is the one lost to decay, as if the system source were a negative inductor to LC (as in the case of RV alternator). Normal entropy decay is 0.618 of 1.618 as logarithmic time receding signal (search for Seike work in ultra-relativity concepts), so the gain is also in atropic system of 1.618 where frequency increase in octaves may increase amplification by a factor of 3.141592 where the spiral resonant circular projection can be expressed in a 12,000 4d polygon structure (as similar to double helix DNA structure - reason human system is OU by all definitions). Remember LOGARITHMIC SPIRALS ORBITAL DECAY PATH IS RELATIVE to gravity as SIGNAL DECAY OR GAIN IS RELATIVE TO LC Q and parameters in a working ZPE system.

It can be done either way, using a reactance to charge a cap, or discharge a cap in a reactive circuit; the resonant condition creates a logarithmic path where VAR power is created and carries a magnetic amplification component with it.

So - we have over-unity in the oscillatory circuit where we must extract the excess power. Many inventors have done it successfully, using those methods mentioned here.

Simple resonance clipping

Here is an optimal and simple circuit for High Voltage Resonance Power Collection. When you connect this circuit directly to wall and use a light-bulb as the load - turning the potentiometer acts as the dimmer. For the sake of simplicity the external 18V DC power is used to power the chips, so it is less time-consuming to implement it. However, you can always use another small 3VA transformer that feeds the chips directly from the LC resonance. The required voltage input it 12-18VDC.

This circuit is especially recommended for Rotoverter or Transverter Resonance Collection (I have personally not yet tested it with RV or TV yet, though, reliable sources suggest this is the very important circuit).

Note that the capacitor (47uF) must be kept close to MC34151 chip for the best stability.

Resonance clipping (low voltage version, complex switching, fast)

Procedure:

  • Resonate LC, direct it into full wave rectifying bridge (FWRB) into DC
  • Clip the power from resonance that exceeds specified voltage level into the capacitor (does not affect the resonance when done wisely)
  • After clipping - discharge the capacitor into the other capacitor -> then into the load (as per original procedure)
  • Easy to apply to RV alternator as well -> this could be an easier way to get OU at single phase resonance

Universal motor (concept)

  • a shortest recipe to attain the RV mode is running a 3PH motor from a single phase using ca.1/4 plate voltage of the motor and choosing a proper capacitor that minimizes the current input at the given load. Lets say you have motor wired to 460VAC, then you run it from the 115VAC grid, lets say you use 90uF run capacitor (only oil capacitors over 370VAC rated) and 16uF run capacitor. Note that run capacitor is choses for the load, so the device requires tuning. Make sure you have a 1M bleed resistor on the start capacitor for safety, or you may accidently touch it while it preserves charge. As there are low currents involved, remove the FAN to get extra free running.
  • to use start capacitor you can use a mechanical switch. You can also use current transformer/relay to be tuned to specific current so when the current exceeds say 3A threshold it connects the start capacitor, while the RPM's get high, the current decreases and the relay switches off.
  • RV is a tool to demonstrate over 90% power savings - using this method to run a motor from grid or solar, and running tools like grinders, lathe, etc that during idle running preserve a lot of power where normal motor from 3PH may use 10x more power. When the shafts gets loaded (but not too much), the efficiency is quite high.
  • RV prime mover as a tool - reverse dynamometer. To measure up bearings' resistance and lubrications. Possible to use at propeller, alternator/generator design. You can measure the optimized input to the RV prime mover to determine very accurately the differences on changes made to the load.
  • There are many more advanced ways to run RV prime mover, to have a multiple energy tranformation
  • PM RV PM (permanent magnet rotoverter primemover) is a way to go to higher efficiencies in prime mover - where you can use a simple RV mode or pulsed mode to have special effects manifested.

RV alternator

  • Works on a principle of the reverse induction. Capacitor(s) are used to create a resonant condition. The virtual energy circulation is said to have .382 or .618 by 'book' formulas amount of radiant energy, which can be tapped using a diode-plug or other resonance collection/recovery circuit without affecting the resonance.

Combining with other Technologies

The RV can also be applied into cogeneration roles involving certain expired energy patents which the public can also benefit from. To date certain expired patents are able be fused with the RV. Many generators can be adopted to the RV prime mover and run in RV mode for high efficiency use as Norman Wootan proved.

Hector has already experimented with the Ecklin-Brown patent as a generator attached to the RV. This patent has expired and Hector has a working OU design. At the time Hector first built this he was not open sourced and experienced the greedy outcome that results in this citation. This resulted in his prototype being suppressed according to Hector. Another one of the expired patents which can be used in cogeneration with the RV technology is the expired Lee Rogers' air car patent.

The resonant amplification has the .382 or .618 proportional component which you can extract without affecting the resonance and without reflecting the demand back to the input. Energy gain in the resonance is due to stochastic resonance (magnetoatomic, electron spin).

He does not show the phase angle or power factor of the voltage and current measurements. Even though clean sine waves can be measured by meters this way as shown, the phase can still booger the final result. His capacitors may be power factor correcting, but it is not shown to us.

  • Note that in the RV circuit, only two of three motor phases actually receive AC current and the 3rd unconnected phase you could call "virtual". Note also how the capacitors go between lines 2 and 3.
  • I got a 7.5hp 1650rpm AC 3ph Baldor motor to draw .21amps at idle@120Vac and 60hz in circuit like this... Sometimes the bearings cause way too much drag - clean them super clean with automotive carburetor cleaner from spray can (it will evaporate) and then drop small amount of hi tech oil in bearings. this might drop your am draw in half if your bearings are gunked up.
