Balanced Condition
The following comment was received on Sept. 6, 2007:
This one shows a balanced condition in the "center of gravity" analysis. I believe what you see on the film is due to the whole unit being slightly off balance to begin with.

Probably Not Overbalanced
On Sept. 6, 2007, Sterling D. Allan writes:
While at first glance visually, the aparatus appears to maintain an overbalance ratio to the right (in the illustration here), count the number of weights on the left and right, and you will see that this brings the balance back into neutrality.
