Sloped Floor?

If it works one way but not the other you need to rethink your conclusions.

There is a reason no one tries building these things. Because its already been done countless times without any positive results other than false positives like I believe you are experiencing.

You said, "That is a flat surface."

Your reference does not prove the surface is flat.

You could prove it with a level that can be bought at the local hardware store.
