Magnet Motors

Category > Mylow

By Sterling D. Allan
Pure Energy Systems News

This page is to jot down various observations and developments that have occurred or are occurring following Mylow (Jose E. Concepcion) having been shown in May, 2009 to be running a royal hoax -- alleging that he had a working Howard Johnson all-magnet motor design that worked, when in reality he employed fakery in every one of the videos that showed alleged acceleration, giving it a push by hand, or running a fishing line to the shaft, or other employing other methods of deception.

Any of the videos that I posted that "Mylow" (Jose E. Concepcion) had conveyed to me or which I copied from videos he posted through his YouTube account, were posted with his permission as part of an open source project that he authorized, which we administered at http://mylowmagnetmotor.com

TO MYLOW
You lied about a working magnet motor, wasting hundreds of people's time and money. Do you really think a judge would side with you saying you didn't give us permission to post your videos when you did, and we have witnesses and email records to prove it? Don't go there.

Infringement Claim Against T.P.

On January 23, 2010 6:08 AM Mountain, T.P. of Finland wrote:

Subject: Mylow & copyright infringement

Mylow has issued a copyright infringement demand to YouTube so they have disabled my video (there was only one public). I can do a counter-notification to YouTube, but they warn that this might lead to a court case and my real contact information will be sent to Mylow.

I'm not very familiar with US laws but I'd think my video constituted "Fair Use". The source material I "cited" from Mylow consist of less than a minute, maybe something like 15 to 30 seconds. It's all relevant to the analysis. I think it's very much in public interest to have such information about hoaxes available (especially in "free energy" scene's interest). I've also paid for the high-res videos although it probably doesn't make a difference.

What's your opinion? Do you think my video was "fair use"? Do you think Mylow will take it to the court if I make a counter-claim? I think he has abused the law here (YouTube of course can't say whether this is really a case of copyright infringement or fair use, because nobody knows before a trial). He would find my contact information so that would leave me open for other kinds of abuse from him.

Mylow Syndrome

On Jan. 23, 2010, Sterling D. Allan wrote:

Based on my close association with Mylow for the two months that he was running his hoax on us all last March-May, and his actions after he was exposed, continuing as if he were innocent, I can't help but think that he is not a malicious person but is a disturbed individual not in touch with reality -- a Don Quixote.

He never once asked for money. He was even loath to accept magnets we shipped to him. The one thing he did appreciate was the assembly we sent him to work with.

It's clear that he was aware that he really didn't have what he was purporting – as evidenced by his not letting me into his apartment when I flew all the way to Chicago unannounced to visit him; and as evidenced by my associate flying in to drive him to visit Howard Johnson's gravesite, and he did not let my associate go to his apartment either. Also, he came right out in some of his videos and said "it is a fake". At the time, we thought he was being sarcastic in response to the hounding of the skeptics. The way he said it, though, is what made us think he really had something and was just speaking out of frustration.

Somehow, he doesn't associate his trickery in giving his motor a spin by hand out of view of the camera, and his making it turn via fish line attached to an out-of-view motor, as intentional deception. An analogy that comes to mind is a young boy playing with a toy, imagining that the toy is real and doing real things, though the reality is that he is just role playing and not actually doing what is going on in his mind. Somehow there is a disconnect in Mylow's mind between reality and his imagination.

Part of his syndrome is probably tied to his twin brother who has an Engineering degree, causing some "me too" jealousy that he is trying to address by pretending that he is a great inventor.

Apparently, judging from his calling himself "shilo" in his recent comment wondering why his technology was not included in my list of "Top 10 Exotic Free Energy Technologies", his syndrome also includes a Messiah complex.

One thing that is still a mystery about this saga is the "men in black" part of the story. Did they really show up? We received independent verification that at least some of the visits from the NSA, etc. that he described actually took place. My guess is that he had them going as well; and that when they returned his motor to him the next day and said "it doesn't work; keep it that way;" that this was really what they said. The later story he told me (about being taken to a secret NSA lair to show him their wares and get him to work with them in getting these motors to work) when I showed up unannounced in Chicago was probably a fabrication (the boy playing in his make-believe world) to keep me from coming to his apartment. But the photo showing up in the Chicago press resembling Mylow standing next to Joe Biden is a stunning coincidence that still has me scratching my head.

He later told me that he did have the motor at his apartment that day, and that my showing up unannounced freaked him out, making him question how much he could trust me, even though I told him that the reason I did not give him a heads up was to prevent the black ops who might be eavesdropping from being clued in to my coming. Somehow, my account didn't jive with what was going on in his make-believe world at the time.

His mental instability is partially evidenced in the comments he has posted, sometimes talking in first person, sometimes in third person, not being consistent in the persona he's conveying. Though his atrocious spelling and grammar is not uncommon among those who hang out in the fringe, its extent is yet another indication of his disconnect from the expectations of civilization. His alleging copyright violation, when he had given permission to post his material, is another evidence of his mental instability and inconsistency.

In comparing the Mylow syndrome to Don Quixote, remember that though the world Quixote imagined was not real, the people he interacted with were nonetheless transformed for the better. His self-deception served an uplifting purpose in the cruel world in which he lived. So perhaps the "Mylow Syndrome" would be better named, the "Messianic Mylow Syndrome."

It might be hard for those of us who took a major hit in our reputations by supporting Mylow (prior to seeing that it was a hoax) to see his syndrome as beneficial. But I'm trying to look at this from a broader perspective and be generous in my assessment of his worth as a human. He's handicapped. Let's play nice (note that this assessment has been composed AFTER what I composed last night [not so nicely] in response to Mylow's alleging that I'm violating his copyright).

Mylow's Lack of Credibility Tarnishes the Field

On January 23, 2010 4:03 PM Mountain, Mark Dansie wrote:

The Mylow episode is an example of the value of scrutiny and the role of skeptics. Sadly, people and claims like this make it harder for genuine developers in this field to be taken seriously or attract research money.

There are many “Mylows” out there wasting peoples time and money and it is important that people follow a rational process in evaluating these technologies. Leave the person out of it and focus on the claim. It is also an example of the danger of wanting to believe in something that hard that people do so at the expense of rational thought.

Any other claims as far as the NSA go have no credibility and I think that anything else claimed or said by “Mylow” has no credibility.
