This OS project is drawn up to campaign for the President to direct Lockheed Martin Skunkworks to build 4 YT-1300 freighter type craft (Millennium Falcon) for NASA for use in the civilian space program. It can be shown the American government has possessed plasma inertia point spacecraft technology probably since the 1980s, and such a craft is well within the capabilities of the Lockheed Martin Skunkworks to construct. 4 craft are needed due to maintenance and down time to enable continuous fleet operations.
Purpose of this article
My knowledge of gravity comes from researching the ancient 3x1 craft detailed in my article Historical anti-gravity. This article was about proposing the most cost effective solution for American taxpayers, so that America can finally have a real space program, based upon what I have learned through my research.
Origin of Millenium Falcon
The design is attributed to George Lucas himself, who supposedly arrived at the design after looking at his hamburger and putting on an olive with a cocktail stick. I have to say I find this story completely implausible. The Millenium falcon is clearly a 3x1 inertia ship with a forward propulsion array for increased hyperspace speed.
That George Lucas accidentally designed an advanced hyperspace ship with the correct scale and geometry while starring at a hamburger is about as credible as Newton coming up with gravity because an apple fell from a tree.
For the record, the The Tantive IV (used as princess Leias ships) is the original Millenium Falcon design the studio artists came up with - it bears no such obvious hyperspace drive characteristics.
The Millenium Falcon is superbly maneuverable as a true 3x1 craft, but then has 2 forward warp coils added on, that blend into the 3x1 maneuvering array, creating good forward hyperspace speed and streamlining the craft for atmospheric operations as well. For a smuggler, a perfect craft. Quick to get away from a standing start, highly maneuverable, fast enough to outrun standard Imperial Navy ships once in hyperspace.
Looking at the dimensions, with a 25.61m width the 3x1 section is the same size as the Haunebu series, which came in at 25m for the I spec, and 26m for the double hull II spec. Looking at the length, at 34.37 this matches the second 35m gravitic harmonic I have identified. So the spin points are based upon the first gravitic harmonic of 7m, and the length is based upon the second gravitic harmonic. Height is 8.27 meters. The Millenium Falcon has always been known for its "tuned" speed in hyperspace. Looking at the dimensions, the reasons become clear.
Further note the 3 dots seen in all shots of the Millenium Falcon and schematics, at the nose of the craft. Clearly a waveguide for the forward warp array, focusing the combined warp field of the 35m shape. Presumably 3, so that the one in the middle counter rotates to the other 2. The much smaller size as much as anything else, clearly identifies them as waveguide points, rather than thrust sources. Again, this is yet more evidence of the fabled hyperspace "tuning" posessed by the Millenium Falcon.
The front array plasma spin pairs have always been promient on the Milennium Falcon and have never really been explained. The fact the cockpit sits to the side is for a reason. The front is dedicated to propulsion. The one change the studios made to the hyperspace craft was adding the fake rear engines.
The evidence that the American government is capable of building inertia craft comes from several sources. The most compelling is photographic evidence relating to the TR-3B craft. This plane became so well known it even featured in the X-File TV show. Despite misinformation, it is entirely obvious the TR-3B is a 3x1 plasma torrid inertia ship. The case is simple, if the American government can build a ship with 4 main spin points (TR-3B), then the Millennium falcon with 8 (an extra 4 points making a forward warp array) is clearly technologically within their design and manufacturing capability.
TR-3B is hyperspace capable as the stills show - taken at night in France.
A ship with a forward array such as the Millenium Falcon enters hyperspace slightly differently. Whatever anyone else says, I think this sequence is genuine. The Daedalus in Stargate enters hyperspace in a very similar manner. Recall in the movie the Millenium Falcon needs a few seconds to enter hyperspace? Well, thats exactly what this sequence shows. The delay is the time required to accelerate the spin of the plasma toroid sufficiently to hit the hyperspace window.
Why the Milennium Falcon?
The Millenium Falcon is at most less than twice as expensive as a T3-3B, due to a similar power rail (not doubling costs there), and a doubled number of spin points. Yet will be much faster in hyperspace due to the dedicated forward array, and gravitically tuned dimensions. I think it could be 4-10 times faster in hyperspace than the TR-3B, for about 1.8x the cost of the TR-3B. So its a good deal for taxpayers.

Since the late 1980s the American government has had the inertia spin point TR-3B hyperspace technology in service. Endorsed by an appearance on the X-Files, numerous pictures and films posted on the Internet show this technology to be real. The TR-3B has 4 spin points, the Millennium Falcon has just 8 main spin points. The Millennium Falcon (YT-1300 freighter) is therefore clearly within the present design and manufacturing capabilities of the Lockheed Martin Skunkworks. By Presidential Executive Order, it is hereby requested the NASA budget be reallocated, and 25% marked for funding construction of a fleet of 4 YT-1300 craft over several years.
This petition is now closed - somewhat unsuprisingly it failed to get the necessary signatures. However, anyone can re-open another one with the above text anytime they choose and have another go at going viral on the web.
Why the Millenium Falcon?
I have identified 4 sources of historical knowledge of hyperspace craft:
- Ancient Atlantean and indeed even pre-Atlantean texts held by secret societies
- Galactic lore which George Lucas obtained - more technically detailed than the Terra papers or other galactic histories.
- Leaks from the American Stargate project - most commonly through the TV show itself
I have reviewed all these sources for knowledge, and identified my favourite hyperspace ships and technologies. From this narrowed down list, I choose the Millenium Falcon for the reasons given as my pick for NASA's fleet craft. Note: Only Star Wars and Stargate show recognisable hyperspace ships. Star Trek world does NOT. The Enterprise is not a viable hyperspace design. One can easily enough deduce which Sci-Fi shows are based upon insider knowledge, and therefore focus on those when evaluating ship design.
The basis of all gravity craft is the classic SM Lifter experiment. This layout is the most efficient in terms of thrust per Watt, the reason I have featured it on this page, but lacks directional control. The scale of 7m and 6.5m is key to this efficiency. It is ideal for a forward warp array. Its really just 2 counter rotating capacitors. That simple.
This basic layout can be adapted to a 3x1 array to enable directional movement - as the simplest gravitic layout it is included for this reason. This trades performance per watt for maneuverability. The SM Lifter concept of an upper and lower spin layer is retained.
Even a basic fluid 3x1 craft can be upgraded to hyperspace craft via a 35m fluid ring on the next gravitic harmonic - this was the upgrade to the Vril Odin craft. The 3x1 array then is used to maneuver in hyperspace. The hyperspace capability off fluid (not plasma) and relatively simple mechanical technology is the reason I include Vril Odin. Assuming a scaled schematic, knowing the inner 3x1 array is 25/26m, the 35m diameter of the outer ring can be deduced from the diagram.
The fastest practical craft I can imagine (raw speed is reason for inclusion) is as below - this craft was removed from the Stargate TV show after featuring for several episodes, and given it is the best design layout I can imagine, I can see why. 2 higher central spin points. 4 lower counter spin points. 2(3) wave guide at front. Forward speed is the result of an asymmetry between front and rear spin. The 6 middle spin points will be 7 metres in diameter. The large plasma ring at rear will be the next harmonic up in scale, 35 metres in diameter, maximizing the aether displacement asymmetry between front and rear of the craft. The opposite array of 2x3 spin points at the front is a waveguide focusing the hyperspace field to the front of the ship. Very fast forward hyperspace speeds. Superb sub light manoeuvrability. Excellent design trade offs, and only 13 spin points in total.
Ancient Norse iconography records this advanced hyperspace ship design as "Thors Hammer". A device so powerful it was able to crush mountains, and defeat all gods and men, via lightning bolts. With such clear engineering excellence, the accounts of Thor's hammer defeating all in battle seem entirely plausible.
Furthering the Sci-Fi theme, somewhat suprisingly I observed that the Millenium Flacon is a viable gravitic layout. It features a neat combination of 3x1 for maneuverability, with a forward array with waveguide to maximize hyperspace speed, that blends into the 3x1 array. The characteristics of excellent sublight maneuverability, fast forward hyperspace speeds, and low manufacturing complexity, is a killer combination. Interestingly, Thor's Hammer and the Millenium Falcon produce a hyperspace field of similar shape, both with a 2x3 point waveguide to the front. Thor's Hammer is a much larger ship of course, with the rear ring alone the size of the Millenium Falcon. I would argue Thors hammer is an appropiately scaled version of the Millenim Falcon warp field layout concept.
Star Destroyers are menacing military craft. Possibly the easiest way to build a large military ship. A couple of spin points on the upper bridge, extends the hyperspace field, and means plenty of cargo capacity on what is really a pretty basic 3x1 frame. A really practical heavy duty craft.
And finally the ancient city ships - simply an awesome concept. Shielding so strong, no hull is required.
These are my favourite hyperspace ships. I have to give special mention to Thors Hammer for being clearly the fastest ship, and for that reason being really awesome. However, looking at manufacturing cost, ease of maintenance, speed - running off relatively simple 7m spin points with the 35m gravitic harmonic physically integrated into the length of the ship, and a 2x3 point tuned waveguide to the front further boosting hyperspace speeds, I'm actually going to say the Millenium Falcon (YT-1300 freighter) is my pick of the hyperspace ships. The most efficient and cost effective hyperspace layout. The perfect blend of characteristics.
In August 2008, Star Wars Blueprints: The Ultimate Collection gave the length as 35.37 meters while the Millennium Falcon novel, published in October, gave the length to be 35 meters. The StarWars.com Encyclopedia, updated in September 2011, stated a length of 34.75 meters, which is the same as that of stock YT-1300 freighters. The most recent publication to give a length of the ship, the Millennium Falcon Owner's Workshop Manual, published in the UK in November 2011 and in the US in February 2012, gives a measurement of 34.37 meters.

Proposed by Tim Harwood, I am not planning to do much more work on this. It is for others to pick up the torch and run with this one. The plan is for a White House Petiton, and eventually Senate Bill, to provide NASA with a hyperspace capable fleet. This page is unrestricted OS and can be edited. There are millions of Star Wars fans out there who can take this on.
