Video from Radio Città del Capo about the event of 28 October 2011 (in Italian):
FOCARDI: "Closing the input of hydrogen is sufficient to stop the reaction. When we performed the initial experiments we had a cell/core working for months and continously heating the offices of Rossi during the winter, and at one point we realised that we did not know how to stop the reaction. I suggested Rossi to hammer the apparatus (NOTE: Focardi laughs), instead Rossi stopped the reaction by not feeding the apparatus with hydrogen."

JOE SHEA CNN STORY ON ROSSI'S 'E CAT' GARNERS 7,215 READERS
NOVEMBER 5, 2011, 10:55AM ET -- Joe Shea's CNN IrEPORT story on how the Associated Press has failed to report the successful test witnessed by its Science writer of Andrea Rossi's 479 Kw Energy Catalyzer, or E Cat, has gotten more than 7,000 readers and was shared nearly 60 times. As Peswiki's Sterling Allan originally reported, the large E Cat - made up of 107 smaller home-sized 5,000-watt reactors - was bought by an unidentified buyer last week. Rossi says he is going straight to market with the [1 MW] E Cats. Word is out that the buyer was a NATO military officer. The smaller 5,000-watt reactors would cover the average home's electrical needs and sell for about $5,000 when introduced. Manufacturing is set to begin in Miami, a violent and dangerous city where corrupt bureaucrats and zoning officials are likely to make life difficult for him, while unions will slow him down at the congested Port of Miami. We urge him to try problem-free Port Manatee near Bradenton, Fla., the closest U.S. port to the expanding Panama Canal. There, new Encouragement Zone projects pay no taxes for years. Del Monte does most of its local shipping out of Port Manatee. One packing plant operator in California told us early last week that he's paying $17,000 a month to air-condition or heat his 44,000-sq.ft plant. In two hot summer months, he could amortize the cost of 6 E Cats and never pay a power bill again!

- Cold fusion anyone? - One of the most elusive, and as some scientists may add, the most unattainable scientific breakthroughs - cold fusion, along with say zero-point energy - remains the kind of science that conceivably makes sense, but had until today remained out of the grasp of scientists. Subject: C2C update on cold fusion E-Cat -- 1 MW Plant sold
Hi Lisa,
There has been a major development in Andrea Rossi's E-Cat technology, which we covered in the March 23 interview with George Noory, myself, and Andrea Rossi.
C2C linked to a story about this on Friday, Nov. 4, at http://www.coasttocoastam.com/inthenews
Here is a listing of coverage on the E-Cat since January when they had their first press conference:
http://peswiki.com/index.php/News:Rossi_Cold_Fusion
Recent coverage includes Wired, Discovery, CNN, Fox, MSNBC, CBS, Daily Mail, LiveScience, NyTeknik, Focus.it, Slashdot
It certainly is not without its controversy. The main criticism is that Rossi doesn't set up his demonstrations in an academically rigorous way. He's not an academic. He's a practical, horse-sense kind of guy. The professors I talked to who will be conducting tests at the University of Bologna want two years. One year to study "how" and one year to study "why". Meanwhile, Rossi wants this technology to go out to the world, so he's doing just that. (Remember, scientists to 4 years with the Wright Bros flying around before they admitted they had been wrong about man not being able to fly...)
I was one of 30 guests with a special invitation who attended a special event Oct. 28 (the true ending of the Mayan calendar according to some) in Bologna, Italy, in which the first commercial customer tested the 1 MW version of the E-Cat, and witnessed 479 kW (average) of power continuously for 5.5 hours in self-sustained mode, with no outside input other than some electricity for fans, pumps, and electromagnetic stimulation (a few kW). The customer (who's engineers conducted the test) purchased the device, being satisfied with the results of test. Now the 1 MW plant is open for commercial sales ($2,000 / kW installed), with up to 100 expected to be manufactured this year. Once mass produced, the cost is expected to go down to $100/kW, 10x cheaper than coal or natural gas power.
One of the most remarkable things about this is that Rossi said in January that in October he would demonstrate the first commercial 1 MW plant; and he actually kept to that deadline and pulled it off. Very rare.
My report is here:
http://pesn.com/2011/10/28/9501940_1_MW_E-Cat_Test_Successful/
It has been one of the primary sources listed by other news services.
Here is an index of articles we've written on the subject: http://pesn.com/working/includes/footers/Rossi_cold-fusion.htm
We're in process of helping Rossi build a website.
PROPOSAL
I think it would be good to have myself and Andrea Rossi on again to give an update on the progress that has been made, and to address some of the controversy. I could also give an update on our Top 5 Exotic Free Energy Technologies listing.
http://peswiki.com/index.php/Top_5_Exotic_Free_Energy_Technologies
Possible show title: E-Cat Cold Fusion Goes Commercial; and other Free Energy News. I could easily take 4 hours, but 2 would be fine, or 1.
At a minimum, I think you should have me on during your opening news segment to give your readers an briefing on the E-Cat developments.

Suggestion from a reader:
As you may know, there are many standards for sale of systems that produce Steam or hot water, which are covered by the ASME and other national standards as well as many local codes – You might find this site of some value to indicate the basic minimum level of testing and compliance that systems like Andrea’s will have to conform to, to be sold, installed, and operated.
http://m.csemag.com/index.php?id=2832&tx_ttnews%5Btt_news%5D=38580&cHash=74678fa8bc
Heating and power boilers, and pressure vessels, are governed by various codes, including ASME, NBBPVI, NFPA, local and state standards, and a host of others for foreign countries. It might be wise to buy the ASME handbook, as a starting place to help guide Andrea through the certification process for sale and use of systems like his, in the US.

INFORMATION:
An imbecile is going around sending “confidential” letters saying that our plant tested on the 28th did not have safety valves. Of course everybody with a minimum of knowledge of the matter knows that it is not possible not to put safety valves in a steam generator , but let me confirm the obvious: the plant has 104 safety valves, one per every vessel, regulated to open at 3 bars. The imbecile who is expanding this and other falsities is not a puppett, he is a puppetteer. Before or later I will publish the story of our relationship with this guy, as well as tapes in which he and his fellows have been videotaped while trying to steal samples of powder in my factory during a visit, as well as a draft of a contract which was a fraud. Desperate of the fact that we started the manufacturing of our 1 MW plants the puppetteers are scratching the bottom of their bullshit barrells, and teaming up with other gangs of thieves too.

Article by John Brandon from Foxnews about the event of 28 October 2011:
http://www.foxnews.com/scitech/2011/11/02/andrea-rossi-italian-cold-fusion-plant/
Sterling Allan, CEO of the alternative energy news agency Pure Energy Systems, told FoxNews.com he attended Rossi’s demonstration and the E-Cat is self sustaining.
“What Rossi demonstrated was 470 kilowatts of continuous output in self-sustain mode -- meaning the output was enough to keep the thing running on its own,” he told FoxNews.com.
Allan hinted on his blog that an unnamed “customer” of Rossi's device is a military organization that starts with an N. Rossi said this customer measured and verified the test -- and told FoxNews.com that Paul Swanson with the U.S. Navy’s Space and Naval Warfare Systems unit (SPAWAR) can vouch for the demonstration.
FoxNews.com spoke with a man at SPAWAR who identified himself as Swanson, and who said only that he was "not in a position to talk to the press." Several other sources within the Navy and the Pentagon either declined to comment or did not return messages.

Energy Catalyzer page at Wikipedia flagged for deletion
Actually, this doesn't surprise me at all. Wikipedia is very pro-establishment, anti-cutting-edge. They will only cover things that the "mainstream" considers copacetic. They don't venture into the bleeding edge like we do here at PESWiki. They classify the page under "Fringe physics" and "Discovery and invention controversies"
In fact, it was their repeated deletion of pages I put up there when I first discovered them starting in December 2003, that spurred me to finally start PESWiki in August, 2004, meeting some guys at the TeslaTech conference who knew how to do it. We kick Wikipedia's butt in covering breakthrough stuff, and often, even mainstream topics we are ahead of them in Google search returns.
Now, here's something interesting. Check out their traffic over the past year: http://www.quantcast.com/wikipedia.org It is down by 13% while ours is holding steady: http://www.quantcast.com/peswiki.com
The mainstream is loosing ground, and I predict that we are about to lunge forward.
