[...] Yesterday I looked over the Italian translation of your rebuttal of Krivit's lastest attack.

I wonder what eats Steve -- I was the guy that drove him around town when he went to see Rossi in Bologna, but we had no idea that he would turn so sour on Rossi.

  • eCat Censorship: AP News Report Killed Off - The Associated Press have been sitting on the Andrea Rossi World Exclusive for 4 days now. If you ever wondered if your media was controlled, then surely you have your answer now. In fact, other news coverage live from the event was apparently curtailed to give AP their supposed "exclusive". You need to get angry about this and start holding those (FreeEnergyTruth; October 31, 2011)

Subject: Request for Comment on Quora discussion re: Rossi's Cold Fusion device

Excellent piece regarding the Rossi Cold Fusion device test. Following it, there's an interesting series of discussions regarding the progression of these tests happening on Quora. I posted the following question here (http://www.quora.com/What-are-the-implications-of-Rossis-Cold-Fusion-device-if-as-has-been-claimed-its-successful?__snids__=27798658) and would appreciate your participation when you have a moment.

This is a potentially very significant discovery that is not getting sufficient discussion, in my opinion, and while Quora is not a forum for detailed scientific dialog, it is an excellent venue for thoughtful discussions of an issue such as this.

Thanks.

Bart

  • Believing in Cold Fusion and the E-Cat Mark Gibbs, who reported last week, gives a philosophical background that seems sincere enough from his side of the fence (not believing that energy bullies exist and that suppression and crackpot scientific politics could get in the way); he still holds out hope that there could be something here; but wants more evidence before he believes. October 30th, 2011 at 12:54 PM
Dear Andrea,

1. Is the 1MW container gone?
2. Have you started building another 1MW in another container?
3. Any improvements you want in version 2?
4. Will the buyer of the next 1MW container be the same customer or a different customer?

Submitted to Slashdot:

1 MW Cold Fusion Plant Verified by Customer
Sunday October 30, @12:16PM
An anonymous reader writes "History appeared to have been made Friday in Bologna, Italy, where a test was conducted of a 1 MW cold fusion power plant, called the "E-Cat" by Andrea Rossi. Due to a glitch, the plant did not produce at full power, but did run at 479 kilowatts continuously, in self-looped mode (no external power input other than pumps and fans), for 5.5 hours. The reactor combines hydrogen and nickel under pressure and heat (550 to 600 C) to produce copper and copious amounts of heat, not requiring any radioactive elements and not producing any radioactive waste. The price point for now, when building these one at a time, will be $2000 per kilowatt installed — roughly twice what a coal or natural gas plant costs. But once mass produced, Rossi expects the price could go down to $100 / kW installed. And the kicker is that the device uses hardly any fuel, and the fuel is super cheap and ubiquitous. Engineers were testing the device on behalf of an undisclosed customer, apparently from the U.S., who signed off on the purchase following the test, according to the public report that was read that evening. Back in January, when Rossi first announced the technology (running at 12 kW) at a press conference in Bologna, he said he would have a 1 MW unit done in October to begin commercial sales. His meeting that goal is astonishing in itself. There were around 30 guests privately invited, including journalists, scientists, and business interests. A reporter from the Associated Press in NY was present and is expected to post his story in the next few days after passing it by his editors."

Andrea Rossi has made many comments in his blog, the Journal of Nuclear Physics.

You can read the comments at the following links.

http://www.journal-of-nuclear-physics.com/?p=510#comments

http://www.journal-of-nuclear-physics.com/?p=516#comments

A few of the most important comments are...

- That before self sustain mode began, the system consumed 400 kilowatt hours and produced 300. - That they are now seeking certification approval for home units. - That corrections have been made to the report. - The R and D program with the University of Bologna will begin soon.

magnus writes in the comments below:

This is a quote today from an article in news.cnet.com regarding the best technology for creating and serving energy to the grid "There are 16 shipping containers, each of which can supply two megawatts for up to 15 minutes. AES chose lithium ion batteries because they were the least expensive for this application and they are proven in the auto industry", Shelton AES Energy Storage President said.

Wow a container that can supply 2 megawatts for 15 minutes!!! That's amazing, no, hang-on........
Mr Rossi may have created 1/2 megawatt of energy in a single container running in self-sustain mode 36 hours ago. Yes, the truth is that everyone is a little skeptical but the possibility was always there. And the more tests that are done, and the more working units that there are out there - the more of the possibility that this may change all of our lives.
Hope

Dear Friend:
It has been an honour for me to have you here [...].
Hope to meet you again soon n the USA.
The status of the cables was that the temperature was absolutely cold, due to the low amount of energy produced respect the power of the Genset.

Andrea

1- THE WEIGHT OF HYDROGEN HAS BEEN MEASURED IN GRAMS, NOT KG, AS ERRONEOUSLY WRITTEN
2- THE FLOW RATE OF THE WATER PUMPS HAS BEEN REDUCED TO 350 KG/HOUR FOR EACH OF THE 2 OPERATING PUMPS, NOT 700 EACH AS ERRONEOUSLY WRITTEN IN THE LAST PARAGRAPH, WHILE IS CORRECT THE FLOW RATE OF 350 KG/H WRITTEN IN THE FORMER PARAGRAPH, ON THE BASE OF WHICH THE CALCULATION OG THE PRODUCED ENERGY HAS BEEN MADE. JUST A TYPO.
