The Machine That Changes Everything - If you haven’t heard of Andrea Rossi, you will be forgiven. He hasn’t received much press and the press he has received has been largely unflattering. Most scientists think that he is a quack at best, a fraud at worst. But what if, just what if, he is something else entirely? Right. (NCRegister; November 13, 2011) (The leading Catholic periodical)
  • Best Exotic FE: Nuclear > Cold Fusion > Rossi > Mainstream News >
Cold Fusion: Has the Holy Grail of Energy arrived in E-Cat? - It may not be directly about cars, but the demonstration by Italian scientist Andrei Rossi of Cold Fusion Energy production E-Cat could change the car world. If E-Cat proves to be what it purports, the world will change completely, with endless supplies of self-sustaining, cheap and clean energy available, completely eradicating our reliance on oil and fossil fuels. (CarsUK; November 14, 2011)

Rossi's E-Cat gets first customers, but questions remain - Italian scientist Andrea Rossi has spent the past year giving demonstrations of a device that he claims can generate large amounts of energy due to a little-understood nuclear process. His latest demonstration, performed on October 28th, has attracted some of the most mainstream media attention yet.... But the big question still seems to be whether Rossi’s E-Cat (energy catalyzer) device is a huge breakthrough or a huge scam. (PhysOrg; November 8, 2011)
  • Andrea Rossi E-Cat produces a nuclear reation - October 2011 saw a flurry of internet activity as Inventor/engineer Andrea Rossi claimed to have created a small device that accomplished cold fusion or what is now called LENR (Low Energy Nuclear Reaction). His device is now supposedly on the market, available to purchase. It would be really cool for myth busters and be able to rule out that the device uses any chemical or electro chemical methods to producing heat. Please do what none of the other news organizations have been willing to do. Dig deeper and see if you can get some answers! (Discovery / Mythbusters / Forum; November 5, 2011)
  • Best Exotic FE: Nuclear > Cold Fusion > Rossi >
What to make of Andrea Rossi's apparent cold fusion success - This friendly article debunks the accusations of fraud by pointing out Rossi's fraud-inconsistent requirement that the 1 MW plant customers be "qualified," large companies (who have lots of attorneys and legal jargon in contracts), who first validate the technology for themselves before the purchase is complete. (; November 6, 2011) [Note: quite a bit of recent mainstream coverage of the E-Cat.]
  • Waiting for Cold Fusion - Mark Gibbs writes: "I’m sorry to report that there still appears to be no news one way or the other as to the reality of Rossi’s claims." (Forbes; November 6, 2011)
  • Cold fusion anyone? - One of the most elusive, and as some scientists may add, the most unattainable scientific breakthroughs - cold fusion, along with say zero-point energy - remains the kind of science that conceivably makes sense, but had until today remained out of the grasp of scientists. (AllVoices; Nov. 4, 2011)
  • Cold Fusion Experiment: Major Success or Complex Hoax? - A physicist in Italy claims to have demonstrated a new type of power plant that provides safe, cheap and virtually unlimited nuclear power to the world, without fossil fuels or radiation concerns. The only hitch: Scientists say the method -- cold fusion -- is patently impossible. They say it defies the laws of physics. (FoxNews; November 02, 2011)

The Peak Oil Crisis: Cold Fusion Redux - A fair overview of the pros and cons and consideration of the ramifications of this technology. "Support for the position that this is a fraud comes from the fact that so far only the inventors and their closest associates seem to know what is going on inside the reactor." (Falls Church News Press; November 2, 2011)
  • Believing in Cold Fusion and the E-Cat' - Mark Gibbs, who reported last week, gives a philosophical background that seems sincere enough from his side of the fence (not believing that energy bullies exist and that suppression and crackpot scientific politics could get in the way); he still holds out hope that there could be something here; but wants more evidence before he believes. (Forbes; October 30, 2011)
  • Hello Cheap Energy, Hello Brave New World - If you’ve missed the recent brouhaha over the E-Cat (which stands for Energy Catalyzer), you’re missing out on a three ring circus over a technology that will either change everything or change nothing because what is promised is, in theory, power too cheap to be worth metering. (Forbes; October 17, 2011)
  • Best Exotic FE: Nuclear > Cold Fusion > Rossi > Theory >
The Flow of Energy (pdf) - Science journal website has released a report based on the theory of the Rossi LENR reaction. "Here an attempt is made to quantify this new condition as it applies to electrons; toward the progression of quantized energy flows (discrete energy burst) as a new source of clean energy and force mechanisms (i.e, propulsion)." (Physics Procedia 20 (2011) 457–464)

Does Italian Demo Show Cold Fusion, or Snake Oil? - Today, is running a story, 'Cold fusion rears its head as "E-Cat" research promises to change the world.' It gives an overview of the technology that claims to fuse hydrogen and nickel into copper, with no radioactive by-products, to produce copious amounts of heat, inexpensively, with a 1 megawatt plant scheduled to come on line later this month. Apparently, Wired was not aware that today is a big test in Italy by scientists from around the world, who will be observing the technology in operation, including self-looped mode. (Slashdot; October 6, 2011)

Towards a nuclear (very) own? (translated) - On 14 January this year at the University of Bologna (Italy) held a demonstration of a device using the principle of the controversial cold fusion. The scientific community, for the most part, remains skeptical. The novelty in this case? Designers announce the launching of the first thermal power plant using the device by October 2011. (Agoravox; May 23, 2011)

Italian scientists claim to invent cold fusion - (A fairly decent overview of the main points, but leans heavy on the skeptical tone, and exhibits an obvious lack of appreciation of the extensive science behind the field in general. But at least they covered it -- something very few news agencies are doing, yet; the previous one being Discovery two days ago.) (; January , 2011)
  • Best Exotic FE: Nuclear > Cold Fusion > Rossi >
Cold Fusion Claims Resurface - Discovery's coverage of the Italian breakthrough is even more pathetic that Popular Science, saying "Pons and Fleischmann ... remain adamant that their research was valid, though no one has been able to reproduce their findings"; when it has been reproduced roughly 17,000 times. Mainstream publications are digging their grave by such ridiculous idiocy. (Discovery; January 21, 2011)
  • Cold fusion work? - Italian physicists are going to show the finished reactor cold nuclear fusion. (CNews R&D; Ru; Jan. 14, 2011)
