Help:Bullet format
From PESWiki
How to format a bullet item for news or for a directory.
Here is the format that we've found to be quite standard, and which we try to adhere to when posting news and directory bullets.
| Table of contents |
EXAMPLE
- How it appears

Topic Identification
"Magnet Motors" is the directory/topical listing, so a person knows what genre the item falls under, and can click through for more information about that general subject if they are interested. This is a step that is not necessary when within a topical page, because everything on the page is of the same genre, so it is implied.
If a topical page has several listings of a sub-genre, e.g. "Wind > Vertical Axis", then it is good to throw up a heading "Vertical Axis" on the Wind page, and post the vertical-axis-relevant items under that heading.
Title
Next comes the title "Steorn to Push Tipping Point for Magnet Motor Technology".
Try to keep that between 4 and 10 words only. It is hyperlinked to the destination url.
Description
Next, after " - " comes the description.
Try to keep that between 10 and 30 words. It summarizes the contents and captures the essential components for the intended audience.
A good description can often capture the essence of an article, giving a person a good thumbnail view of the article or website, even if they don't have time to click through and read the article or website.
Attribution
Then comes the source information. (Organization, location, date.) I italicize the organization name.
Acknowledgement
Finally, it is nice to have an acknowledgement, in (parenthesis), if relevant -- the person or entity who referred the item. If you found it yourself, or if the person does not want to be credited, you can leave that off.
If you are posting a single item to a topic page, and you want to note yourself as the source of the posting, so people can contact you as an authority of sorts for that subject, you may do so by entering four "~" marks in a row "~~~~", and when you save the page here at PESWiki, a link to your username, and the date/time stamp will be posted automatically.
Image
I like to have a standard size for all news and bullet images as much as possible.
95 x 95 pixels works well.
The image is posted to the right of the bullet.
If possible, it is good to reduce the file size of the image, so save on memory and load time.
