SEC Regulations

There are very stringent securities laws surrounding the solicitations of investments. Be sure you are familiar with these in regard to the specific company and their financial set-up before posting or amending info about them. A featured company needs to approve the information that appears on this page.

Many companies, for example, cannot have any mention of investment opportunities through any public medium as it will be construed by the Securities and Exchange Commission as soliciting for investment. Until all the proper registrations are done, and they have applied to do an Initial Public Offering (IPO), if they wish to go that direction, or if they want to keep that door open, they are restricted as to how their stock can be sold via various regulations.

In these cases, for example, the actual negotiations and/or conversations which directly lead to a sale of shares, can only be done on a one-on-one basis through an officer or Board member. Or, they can have people, who for a fee arrangement, pass on to them the names of interested individuals or companies to contact; but any and all investment information must pass directly from the company to the potential investor or his/her agent(s).
