Advantages of Electric Scooters

The electric scooter might be the next alternative in city commuting. The cost to travel 10-20 miles is well below $0.2 as oppose to $2 on city bus (NYC). The electric scooters might be desirable alternative in a time when oil is becoming more and more expensive.

Somebody may argue that the scooter still use the fuel indirectly (electricity). Yes. However, as oppose to cars the total mass that have to be move (scooter and driver) might be 10 to 20 times lower then any car in production. That is significantly more economical in terms of used energy. So what the cost and profit? For example in NYC the cost of commuting by city bus for in one year is $912. The scooter cost is $350 and the recharging cost for a year is less then $73 (assuming less then 40 mile traveling distance a day). The $423 for initial investment might definitely sense for short distance commuting.
