Hook up the recovery circuit with 6 old flashlight batteries that you know are dead and charge them up, good way to recycle your old batteries. -- John
- Good job on the motor, I would put more turns on the coil, move from 450 turns to 900 turns on coil, now that it is running.

Call me an optimist, but it seems to me that the average slope on your last set of data from 10/29 8:00 pm until now is beginning to be less steep than in the previous two runs, and it is curving toward less steep.
Isn't this what we were expecting to see as the batteries became conditioned?
I'm thinking perhaps you are beeing impatient in expecting to see results right away.
First, you have not supercharged your batteries, which is a major step toward conditioning them.
Second, you are only using one battery on the output and one on the input, rather than four on the output, taking turns on the input.
Step two needs to follow step one, and you have done neither of these steps.
Nevertheless, I would tend to think from your data that there is a change beginning to take place.

John and I took a look at your battery charging graph on the wiki
page. We believe that your batteries are fully charged. We draw
this conclusion from a number of points, which you can use as points
of reference for the future.
1) The voltage is over 15 volts.
2) The big dips in voltage during the process, which are large
inpedance drops in the battery, have all but stopped.
3) The voltage has dropped slightly below its peak, and is not
regaining its former top value.
These are the best indicators. Also, feel free to put your ear right
up to the battery. If you hear any sounds inside the battery, it
means the electrolyte is boiling. Also, a sure sign that the battery
is at or near its top voltage.
Sterling must have misunderstood what I told him when he said that
the voltage would "drop at a slow, steady rate". It should
essentially plateau slightly below its peak value and hold steady.
I hope this clarifies the issue for you.

Here is the final test for this replication.
This test is using 4 of the previously supercharged 12 volt 7.5 Amp gel cell batteries..
One cell powering the circuit, 3 cells charging from the circuit..
The rotation is about every 12 hours.

Would you mind briefly summarizing the following, 1) did you wait until you brought your battery that had been on the front side up to voltage by itself before connecting it to the bank of back-side batteries? 2) what was the voltage differential between the batteries when you hooked it up? 3) what guage wires were you using to connect to your terminals?
Also for the sake of others viewing this page, I should mention that John/Peter recommend four batteries on the back side, rotating in turn to the front, and they recommend that the battery that has been on the front be brought up to the same voltage by itself on the charger before being hooked in parallel to the bank of other batteries on the back end.
Essentially used the components specified in the materials page.
Used P600M6A10 for Diode D2 because I had it on hand.
On recommendation of John Bedini I put 900 turns on the power winding.
Transistor base current limit is 680 Ohm.
Batteries: had the Werker battery on hand
Power Source batteries are new
1) Werker WKA 12-5.1A gel cell, pretty new from blown out UPS
2) 4 Power Source gel-cel batteries, 12 Volt 7.5 Amp

I turned a Plexiglas plug on my lathe to fit the hole in the board.
Drilled ¼ hole
Glued in plug
Glued in shaft,
ball bearings between 1/4 inch shaft and pipe-frame.
