Bedini and Lindemann

John Bedini and Peter Lindemann have run thousands of experiments on the various Bedini circuit/motor designs they have built. Some of the results/conclusions of those experiments are reported on the data index page. The primary purpose of this index is for others, now, to report the results of their independent replications and testing of this particular iteration. Note that while John Bedini and Peter Lindemann did build a working motor after which this design is patterned, that they have not documented that particular design's performance.

Supercharging

Place a trickle charger on the input battery to keep it up, while charging a group of matched batteries in parallel until they receive no more charge. Be prepared to see several very unusual spikes up and down; longer drops down, followed by another climb up with smaller spikes up and down; speed-up, slow-down of incline. Peter said that it is in the decline stage that the reconditioning takes place and the surface of the battery plates is modified. Wait until the curve flattens out, and very gradually declines over hours rather than a few minutes per .01 volt change. This is a major step in conditioning the batteries to receive the unusual charge generated by this device.

One in, Four out, Rotate one

Once the batteries are supercharged, place four batteries on the back end (charging), with one on the front end running the circuit. Once that battery has gone down to its 20% from full level, rotate one of the four batteries on the back end into the front. The sequence of rotation should be one of taking turns so that the one on the back side that has been there the longest goes to the front side. Bedini repeated this procedure for six months without ever having to externally charge the system. Bear in mind that your success in achieving this may be determined first by finding the optimal window of performance for your particular set-up.

  • relationship of guage of wire
  • relationship of gap between magnet and coil
  • relationship of density of core material
  • relationship of spacing of magnets
  • relationship of strength of magnets
  • relationship of size of magnets

Follow your curiosity.

In addition to the above procedures, which take much higher precedent, here are some ideas that you might consider.

  • How long can one battery run the motor? - One 9-volt battery providing input with six batteries in parallel being charged on the output to quantify (1) the amount of energy required to run the circuit, and (2) the amount of charge produced from the circuit (measured in batteries charging).
  • What happens when the input battery and output battery are not matched (same size and voltage)?
  • Quantifying the Losses of the Motor-Circuit - Determine the isolated resistances of
    • (1) air friction on the rotor,
    • (2) bearings friction,
    • (3) circuit losses.
  • Mismatching voltage and impedance ratings of input-output batteries.
  • Varying the output diode voltage rating
  • Varying the resistor ohms rating
  • Input from non-rechargeable to comparable rechargeable output.
  • Basic question: What does this thing do? (Does it rotate the wheel for X number of hours until the batteries are depleted?) At what RPM?
  • What is the control data (how long would the wheel rotate without the circuit -- only one battery, how about with 2 batteries?) Same RPM?
  • Another control data point: How long would the wheel rotate with just a conventional small DC motor driving it via one battery? (Same RPM?)
