Racing improves the breed and this is no exception. Most of the development of solar racers is undertaken by university teams.
  • The Frisian Solar Challenge (http://www.frisiansolarchallenge.nl/eng/page.php?nodeId=98) - A sunny variation of the legendary Eleven Cities Skating Race (Elfstedentocht), 48 Dutch and international teams will navigate the Frisian waterways over a distance of almost 200 kilometres, past eleven Frisian cities, in custom-designed and built solar-powered boats from June 22 - June 28, 2008.
