And he also told me that their monthly bill that time was reduce to 65-75%. I was really surprised, because I knew him, and I sailed with him a lot of times. At the moment, he is sailing now on another ship, which [is] from [the] same company I work on, and I got in touch with him just this morning. Luckily, we both had signals from our mobile phone. Again I asked him about the generator. He told me his family [is] still using it when it's necessary. I told him that I will visit him when we sign off, hopefully January, next year. I will visit his home town, which is only 3 hours drive from my home town, to see it for myself, that it really works. Whatever the outcome of my visit to his place, I will immediately inform you.

Weather Rangers: Dissipating Tropical Storm Cristobal

Not all is conspiracy in the world of weather control. Some of our friends have been open sourcing their activities for years for mitigating the effect of otherwise catastrophic weather. Here's an email I received recently:

: I am impressed with the power of your machine!

: As I am sure you have noticed, when we use Push from a colder latitude to affect a storm in the tropics we are feeding cold air into the upper portion of the storm (much colder than it already is), and although this keeps the storm disorganized it also makes it to keep on trying to get started again. I have observed that Pulling warmer air from the Equator into a storm seems to stop the storm dead in its tracks.

: Our machines are creating "artificial jet streams" (also known as "unexpected wind shear"). When we are working from the colder latitudes and we use Pull instead of Push we are filling the storm's top high clouds with warm air from the Equator instead of colder air. The storm will then quickly dissipate. I don't think that using Pull will make tropical storm Cristobal get closer to the US mainland because it will quickly disintegrate.

: Something else to consider is that pouring a cold artificial jet-stream into a warm-climate will cause much atmospheric humidity to be released because when cold meets warm the warmer air releases its water content. This humidity is then carried away by natural jet-streams to other parts of the world.

: PS: Nice Sweeper action! I recommend using the Sweeper only when the storm is upon you, say a few hundred miles from your location. Otherwise direct Pull or Push action is better. Its a bit more troublesome to calculate aim but better because the desired weather effect is seen faster.

Reason for 12-hour PESWiki Outage

Relevance: Housekeeping

PESWiki was down for 12 hours a couple of days ago. It turns out that the reason had to do with an incomplete file transfer of the file that defines the top, left, bottom borders, which I update regularly.

We've been having problems with the internet connectivity here, and because the file the defines those elements didn't transfer properly, all the pages where loading blank.

We're upping the bandwidth here today. Hopefully that will help prevent this but also I'll be double checking each time I do that file transfer to make sure it went through properly.

Thanks for the concern/curiosity that several of you have voiced.
