Cosmic rays may spark Earth's lightning
Image:Bottled Lightning by PosterWLC 400.jpg

'Free Energy Blog:2013:10:21'

Relevance: Directory:Electric Universe / Directory:Lightning Power

Peter Lang brought this one to my attention.

The proponents of the electric universe paradigm will love it (though most of them have probably already seen it, since its a few months old). Some day soon, I need to finally get a Directory:Electric Universe page up here at PESWiki. Long overdue, from what I'm hearing from my brother and dad.

Cosmic rays may spark Earth's lightning (NBC News May 8, 2013)

: More than 20 years ago, physicist Alex Gurevich at the Russian Academy of Sciences in Moscow suggested lightning might be initiated by cosmic rays from outer space. These particles strike Earth with gargantuan amounts of energy, surpassing anything the most powerful atom smashers on the planet are capable of.

: When cosmic rays slam into air molecules, they can make them spit out huge numbers of electrons. This shower of electrons would collide into still more air molecules, generating more electrons. All in all, cosmic rays could each set off an avalanche of electrons, a chain reaction Gurevich calls a runaway breakdown.

: However, to kindle lightning, initial calculations suggested very high-energy cosmic rays were needed. These are relatively rare — thunderclouds should each see only one a day, not enough to account for the amount of lightning occurring daily. [Electric Earth: Stunning Images of Lightning]

: The answer to this mystery might lie in how thunderclouds possess vast numbers of electrically charged water droplets and ice nuggets, which Gurevich and his colleagues call "hydro meteors." In such energetic surroundings, cosmic rays 10,000 to 100,000 times less energetic than thought could generate the cascades of electrons needed for lightning. Such cosmic rays hit Earth about as often as lightning flashes on the planet.

: Gurevich and his colleague Anatoly Karashtin at the Radiophysical Research Institute in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia, analyzed radio pulses from nearly 3,800 lightning strikes detected in Russia and Kazakhstan. The nature of these pulses suggests they may be created by the kind of electrons one would expect to see in the runaway breakdowns from cosmic rays....

LENR Cars Files Patent
Image:US2013-0263597A1 rd.gif

'Free Energy Blog:2013:10:20'

Relevance: Directory:Cold Fusion

Following the Event:2012:E-Cat Conference in Zurich last year in Zurich, I was able to spend three days with Nicolas Chauvin, starting on auspicious September 11, while traveling through Europe checking out various exotic FE technologies. His office is on the EPFL university campus. While there, he showed me the Tokomak reactor, the SolarImpulse plane project, and an EV expo. I also shot a video of his bunker that is required equipment in all Swiss dwellings.

So today, when I was notified by a UK contact that LENR-Cars had filed for a patent, I felt to congradulate them.

My UK contact wasn't as positive:

: ...Patent filed by LENR Cars in Switzerland -- basically a catch-all, linking all kinds of external combustion engines (steam piston, turbine, and both types of Stirling) to an unspecific NiH LENR heat source to power almost any kind of transport. A techy 12-year old could have written it. But it could make problems further down the line.

Abstract: A low energy nuclear thermoelectric system for a vehicle which provides a cost-effective and sustainable means of transportation for long operation range with zero emission using an onboard low energy nuclear reaction thermal generator. The present invention generally includes a thermal generator within a thermal enclosure case, an energy conversion system linked with the thermal generator, an energy storage system linked with the energy conversion system, a cooling system and a central control system. The thermal generator reacts nickel powder with hydrogen within a reactor chamber to produce heat. The heat is then transferred to the energy conversion system to be converted into electricity for storage in the energy storage system. The cooling system provides cooling for the various components of the present invention and the control system regulates its overall operation. The present invention may be utilized to power a vehicle in an efficient, sustainable and cost-effective manner.

Alarming stuff...

: TITLE: Sailor: “After we left Japan, it felt as if the ocean itself was dead” — Nothing alive for over 3,000 miles — No longer saw turtles, dolphins, sharks, birds — Saw one whale, it appeared helpless with big tumor on head

: Source: Newcastle Herald (Australia)

:: [...] The next leg of the long voyage was from Osaka to San Francisco and for most of that trip the desolation was tinged with nauseous horror and a degree of fear.

:: “After we left Japan, it felt as if the ocean itself was dead,” [Newcastle, Australia yachtsman Ivan] Macfadyen said.

:: “We hardly saw any living things. We saw one whale, sort of rolling helplessly on the surface with what looked like a big tumour on its head. It was pretty sickening.

:: “I’ve done a lot of miles on the ocean in my life and I’m used to seeing turtles, dolphins, sharks and big flurries of feeding birds. But this time, for 3000 nautical miles there was nothing alive to be seen.”

:: In place of the missing life was garbage in astounding volumes. [...]

:: And something else. The boat’s vivid yellow paint job, never faded by sun or sea in years gone past, reacted with something in the water off Japan, losing its sheen in a strange and unprecedented way. [...]

Chukanov builds industrial heatless Quantum Free Energy generator in Bulgaria

'Free Energy Blog:2013:10:16'

Relevance: Directory:Chukanov Quantum Energy LLC

Yesterday, I posted the story:

Template: 2768

A few hours later, Kiril weighed in as follows (edited):

: From: Kiril Chukanov

: To: sterlingda

: Sent: Wednesday, October 16, 2013 1:07 AM [Mountain]

: Dear Sterling,

: I just read an article in your famous blog about your meeting with our family friend Rocky Anderson. Rocky is a great American, America needs him as President!

: I'm in Bulgaria now, in [the] city [of] Varna (located on the Black Sea shore). Here, [for the] last four months, supported financially (not much) by two small Bulgarian businessmen and by friends who want Quantum Free Energy to start its practical application first in Bulgaria.

: I built [an] industrial heatless quantum free energy generator which is now undergoing tests -- [the] first QFE (quantum free energy) is PRODUCED!!! Quantum Free Energy from ball lightning!!! Incredible! I produce ball lightning which generates QFE in form of kinetic energy. My method has nothing to do with Joseph Papp's technology.

: I miss Salt Lake City I miss my family I miss my friends there. I consider you as my personal friend, too. No matter our different views about free energy reality. [...]

: Due to patent restrictions I cannot openly describe (online) the principle, technology, and construction of the heatless QFE generator "Great Bulgaria". It works, it is REAL!

: I recently visited China. They want me there ASAP. Maybe I will go there. At least they agree to invest and create good conditions for my QFE project.

: Best wishes to you and your family!

: Kiril Chukanov

: pp. I'll post some video about tests on Great Bulgaria QFE generator in my site.

[This one only shows the first portion of what I saw at Rocky's -- Sterling]

-- SilverThunder 13:44, 16 October 2013 (UTC)

Then he added (slightly edited):

: From: Kiril Chukanov

: To: Sterling Allan

: Sent: Wednesday, October 16, 2013 7:47 AM [Mountain]

: Subject: RE: 1film

: Yes, I'll send you another video. This video is made with very fast video-camera: 1,200 frames per second, then edited with computer for slower speed. Very easy (reliable) to calculate the speed.

: The speed of ball lightning up is 65 meters/sec. The speed of water geyser (at its beginning) is approx 50 m/sec. [The] geyser (with still [high] speed/kinetic energy) stops on the concrete ceiling of the lab. Good over-unity!

: Many other tests will be done. The over-unity could reach big numbers. QFE in this 'heatless QFE technology' works, and works very well! I will prepare patent application.

: Best regards,

: Kiril Chukanov

And here's the video.

I also adapted a still-shot-collage to show the different stages:

Dansie Weighs in on EEFG

'Free Energy Blog:2013:10:16'

Relevance: Directory:Endless Electric Field Generator (EEFG)

Yesterday, I posted the story:

Template: 2768

A few hours later, Congress:Former Member:Mark Anthony Dansie weighed in as follows (edited):

: From: "Mark Dansie"

: To: "Sterling Allan" [...]

: Sent: Wednesday, October 16, 2013 6:14 AM [Mountain]

: Subject: Amendment to Story

: Hi Sterling

: I had this sent to me and understand you published this.

:: Potentially, an Directory:Endless Electric Field Generator (EEFG) the size of a small postage stamp could power a cell phone indefinitely and last much longer than the phone. Something the size of a business card could power a laptop and it would cost only a few dollars to manufacture. Stack a few together, and you could power a car or a house -- though that will take more time to engineer it to that level. The core technology has been third party tested by several groups, one of which most all of you would recognize. Even Mark Dansie gave them the thumbs up and dropped everything for several months to help them move forward. (Remind him of that when he says nothing I've covered in our exotic list has ever been validated.)

: I wish to have this amended. Please update your story or information:

: 1. I no longer believe it is from a free energy source and most likely may be explained by conventional Physics. There are mixed opinions regards this. This does not degrade the value or importance of the technology.

: 2. If it does draw form the ZPE, Overunity or whatever you like to call it other research has shown, there would be limits at the rate it could draw at, so it may be very limited.

: 3. I do feel it's worthy research and should be continued to be funded. It's market may be limited to high value smaller powered devices in the microwatt and possibly micro- and milli-watt levels.

: 4. The expense or capital cost per watt would mean it would not compete with other technologies for larger devices such as powering a house (solar), although that equation could change.

: I have three other technologies scheduled for further research with various partners next year that could also have the ability to provide low levels of power for many years. None are over-unity. Their value and applications will be determined by the outcomes of the research. On another positive note there is some exciting research in the low energy nuclear field -- not like Rossi, but exciting, and may meet what you described above...very early days. My work commitments in Asia with the water technologies and other energy projects means R&D has to be on the back burner for a while. [...]

: Kind Regards

: Mark Dansie

Scientists Figured Out a Way to Cheat Newton's Third Law

'Free Energy Blog:2013:10:16'

Herve Desroches brought this one to my attention:

Scientists Figured Out a Way to Cheat Newton's Third Law (Gizmodo October 15, 2013)

Here's an excerpt:

: Ever since the late 17th century, it's been understood that to every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. That's Newton's Third Law of Motion. But a group of German scientists recently came up with a trick that appears to break that law, one that lets light accelerate all by itself. And it could bring us faster electronics in the process.

: This is not a simple trick. It involves fiddling with the mass of photons, particles that are believed not to have a mass at all, and requires a form of negative mass, a state that scientists believe does not exist. That's the trick part. And that's also why it merely appears to break Newton's third law. All that said, it's pretty impressive.

: What these German scientists basically did is create an optical diametric drive. The basic principle behind a diametric drive calls for an object with positive mass to collide with an object with negative mass causing both to accelerate forever in the same direction.

Fact: Japanese Company Developing Technology to Convert Waste Plastic into Oil and Fuel

'Free Energy Blog:2013:10:15'

Relevance: Directory:Waste to Energy > Directory: Blest Machine recycles plastic back into oil

Andrew Michrowsky brought this link to my attention:

: Man Invented a Machine to Convert Waste Plastic into Oil and Fuel

: April 16, 2013

: A Japanese inventor creates a Machine that Converts Plastic into Oil and Fuel.

: Other Versions

: 1. Japanese invention turns plastic into oil, fits on a tabletop.

: 2. The Art of Recycling: Man Invents Machine To Convert Plastic Into Oil

: Hoax or Fact:

: Fact.

: Analysis:

: The message comes with a video showing a Japanese inventor explaining about his invented machine, claiming to convert waste plastic into oil and fuel. It is a fact, the inventor is Akinori Ito and the converter is called Blest Machine.

: Possibility of Converting Plastic into Oil

: This video reminds us of the popular video showing how to convert Salt Water into Fuel, which is not practically easy and profitable - as the process consumes more energy than it produces. Although the present story sounds too good to be true, it holds up to scrutiny and does not violate any physical laws. Yes, it is a fact that plastics are generally recycled back into oil in massive facilities, and this is possible because most of the plastics today are made from oil. The Japanese inventor here, Mr. Akinori Ito has in fact built a tabletop machine called Blest Machine which can do the same task safely and cleanly.

: However, it should be noted that Blest is not the only company to be able to turn plastic waste to oil. There are few other companies across the world that are trying to make this process profitable. Agri-Plas, an Oregon-based plastics recycler company, is the first one in U.S to convert unwanted and typically unrecyclable agricultural plastics into crude oil. The company has even shipped this oil to a refinery for commercial processing. Then there are other companies like Agilyx (formerly Plas2Fuel), the Envion Oil Generator, and few others that you can read from the reference section below. The second video is a CNN news report of the Envion Oil Generator. The process these companies (and individuals) employ to convert petroleum-based waste plastic into fuel is known as Pyrolysis.
