Exp. 10.4 Different Standing Discharge Rates

Summary : Seven Batteries were charged in parallel for several days. When disconnected from the circuit and from each other, their standing discharge rates varied in a consistent pattern. Batteries 1, 2, 3 and 4, which have seen the Bedini SG circuit the longest (off and on since Oct. 9), did not drop nearly as fast at first, but at the end dropped lower in voltage than batteries 5,6,7, which were obtained a couple of weeks after the first four batteries (battery 8 was in input side during charging). This phenomenon is consistent between the first four batteries, and the last three. The graph below takes three representative batteries to illustrate the difference in standing discharge rate over the course of five days.

I chose batteries 1, 4, and 7 as reflective of general patterns.

All batteries began at 6.96 (in parallel) just prior to the standing discharge experiment. By "standing discharge" I mean there was no load, they were just equilibrating after having been charged quite high (7.63v)

Here is a sampling of data points.

(Batt 3 was headed for another experiment, so it was not measured very closely. Note, also, that Batt. 3 was damaged in Exp. 1. Here it behaves like Batt.s 4-7.)

Battery 4, which had started out holding so steady relatively, ended up dropping to the lowest end voltage.

Batteries 5 and 6 had mainly just seen solid state resonance charging from the Bedini SG circuit. Battery 7 had not seen the circuit until this Exp. 10 charging (with rotation) episode.

I'm working on a "Battery History" chart that will help make more sense of these difference in performance.

Materials

Both 6V batteries were 6V Panasonic-BSG 4.2Ah/20h sealed lead acid batteries part number LC-R064R2P from Digikey.com.

Volt Meter by GB Instruments GDT-11, measures to two significant digits to right of decimal.
